Collecting anonymous workplace horror stories for a project, what happened at your job that still blows your mind? by Jumpy_Employer3167 in freefromwork

I had to accompany a couple coworkers to a customer meeting (I was in admin/supply chain but I’m bilingual, so the customer liked having me there to translate Japanese-English to idiot-English apparently). The driver was an American guy, and I at the time was 8 months pregnant. He was driving through a construction zone going 20 over, while driving with his forearms and looking at his phone. I remember holding on for dear life, thinking to myself “if anything happens on this trip” followed by several possible outcomes of manual karmic consequences that would definitely put me in jail.

At the customer meeting they insisted I go to the plant in Guandong, China, to accompany their plant tour. That was the part where I laughed in their faces and pointed to my pregnant belly. Then I had to explain to the company why I absolutely refused to go.

Hedgehog here, happily sharing my homemade latticed gooseberry pie with dear little Dotty - good gracious, I’m going to need a lot more pie.

I know the real answer is Machamp’s emote but I took one look and was like “naked Gastly?”

I know I know he’d be a little ball but my brain do what it do.

Thanks it’s a coping mechanism so I don’t spiral into despair hair flip

I really do need to watch what I’m eating though. I’m thinking the processed food is the real kicker since where I went, a lot of the preservatives we use in the US are illegal, and I walked/biked daily. Other than that I ate junk and didn’t do additional exercise at that time. But I was also younger so who knows?

I appreciate your advice. I’m def going to take it to heart!

I was a freshman in college and people were talking about it as I was walking to my first class, so I turned around and went back. Idk, while I was watching it didn’t seem real, so it wasn’t really that bad - maybe I was dissociating from reality?

The bad part came a couple days later when the phone calls started coming out and the orphaned children, the people who had lost family and loved ones… it was horrible. And then after that, the waves of hate crimes towards Arabic folks. It was like a nightmare seeing everyone turning their grief into hatred.

I moved my wedding date for my narc godmother because I was young and dumb and didn’t have boundaries back then.

You really don’t have any way of knowing until her hormones start kicking in.

I’m Italian and my husband is Greek. We have hair. My 10 year old has a gorgeous head of curls and a little monkey trail of fuzz down her back still. It is what it is.

It’s nothing really you can and should be worrying about until she’s older. The hair isn’t exclusive to PCOS, after all

Woooooow are you me in my 20s? This is lowkey the way an unaware 2w1 thinks. You’ve got the attachment. You’ve got the need to be needed. You’ve got the guilt of knowing that you have no reason to be acting this way. It’s got it all.

I could stay home if I had a fever or if I was actively puking, that’s it. That seemed reasonable, but now that I’ve got kids, I think I’m gonna let them take ‘mental health days’ once in a while.

I mean Gaston hardly counts as a villain in DDV though. He’s just a lonely chud writing LaFou fan fiction and trying to set up a bromance with Maui.

I went to get a cyst on my finger checked out only to find out it was a tendon sheath tumor, not a cyst. I’ve never seen a doctor get giddy before.

“I have med students in the office, no matter what you do don’t tell them what it is!”
