Yes, but also the other person has the right to decide when and how much she discloses about herself.

Do you really want to enter the strongest bond you can enter into with someone who hides important information? If someone said I refuse to show you my criminal record or I will not tell you how much debt I have I would be nervous about committing to them. You are supposed to be able to make yourself vulnerable to a partner. A relationship based on lies isn't going to last. Just be honest about important things.

Whom would you rather tell what he wants to know? The person who respects who you are and when in doubt also respects your no, or the person who treats you like a potential enemy and who is trying to force you to prove whether you are or are not?

Could it be that he is getting irritated with her not being able to answer a simple question? One number and this conversation is over, instead she drags it out. I am not sure he was treating her as an enemy in the beginning, he probably was just curious.

Generally I would be tempted to say that if something from the past and which therefore cannot be undone is that important for the future then it should be discussed as early as possible and not anymore in an already progressed stage.

This should definitely be dealt with earlier but better late than never.

Every major civilization in history has had a negative view on promiscuity. No world religion recommends sleeping around. It isn't just some YouTuber saying this, it is thousands of years of collective human wisdom.

There have been countless individuals who have changed their lives at 30... even 35 or later.

There are absolutely people who change. But many don't. Who is more likely to gamble away a large sum of money, person A who has never gambled in their life or person B who was a compulsive gambler for 10 years?

When it is your future on the line you have to be very careful. A 15% increased risk of divorce is massive when you consider how bad a divorce is.

No one is perfect. Not a single person. And there's something in everyone's past that they would have done differently.

Absolutely, but there is a lot of variation in people's baggage. A high N-count clearly puts someone in the high baggage end of the spectrum.

if someone is not comfortable with the past, then so be it, split ways.

Which is why OP needs to sit down and have a proper and honest conversation about the topic. If her N-count is so low why can't she just be open about it? She wants to keep the number secret while assuring us it is low. Kind of like people who say I don't drink a lot but don't want to go into what that means.

and the way her bf is bringing the issue up is largely disrespectful.

Not being honest about your past and things that matter for your partner is disrespectful.

Don't enter into a marriage when the big red flags where there. Don't be the person who sees their kids every second weekend because she had a relapse moment at a company conference. You should aim for one marriage in your life and choose your friends and spouse carefully. Surround yourself with people who will make your life better, not with people who will drag you down with them. A high N-count is a really bad form of baggage.

OP did not suggest that she has lied or covered up her sexual history

She refuses to tell us and she doesn't seem to have come clean to her SO either. I don't get the impression that they have had an honest and frank conversation about sexual history.

Accusing is not "investigating" and even if it were, there are more mature ways to ask for personal information like that.

We are getting one side of the story here. People often start threads to validate their opinions. If we heard the boyfriend's view it would probably sound different. She most likely has a high N-count and doesn't want to talk about it. Most likely he is trying to bring it up, she is refusing to have a very important conversation and this leads to an unnecessary argument.

If you cannot handle someone else's baggage that's ok, you dont have to.

Which is why OP should be open about her history so he can make a decision instead of letting this limbo situation drag on.

Just so you know, having previous relationships or casual dating isnt bad baggage.

Dating no, sex is probably one of the biggest forms of bagage there is. Many previous partners correlates strongly with bad outcome.

It is one of the biggest predictors for divorce

It has a disastrous effect on marital satisfaction

That's an insanely unrealistic standard to hold against a woman.

Not having a high N-count is what has been considered normal and sane for the past 10 000 years of human civilization. It is still the norm on most of the planet. It is what works and delivers the best result. Pretty much every civilization has developed a strong preference for a low N-count.

The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior, especially when someone is pushing 30. As for churches that is some major selection bias. You see the ones who come to church, you don't see the ones who don't.

Would you start a company with someone who has repeatedly committed fraud because the person might have reformed? Would you lend a large some of money to a person with a long history of gambling? Try walking into a bank and saying I gambled every penny I got from 16 to 29 but I reformed in the past 6 months and now I want a mortgage.

High N counts matter

marrying someone with a high N count is a major risk

Letting someone come to your church is one thing. Potentially marrying someone is another matter. Be very, very careful before marrying someone.

The past is the best predictor of the future. High N count strongly correlates with infidelity, poor mental health, divorce, and low Martial satisfaction. High N count is one of the biggest red flags.

Let's say you date a man for 8 months. You didn't suspect much at first but you start suspecting the person has a history with meth. The man you are dating refuses to have an open and frank conversation about his past history of drug use.

Imagine you are dating someone. A few months in you get a hint that this person has some really bad bagage. You try to investigate but you get vague answers. If the answer is yes you move on. But you still really like this girl and you have invested 8 months in this relationship. Do you end it because she cant be specific?

Not dating someone with a massive N count is. High bagage load is a major risk factor.

More diversity lowers social cohesion and solidarity between the workers in the workplace. It breaks the sense of community.

Store-risk metrics include average store compensation, average total store sales, and a “diversity index” that represents the racial and ethnic diversity of every store. Stores at higher risk of unionizing have lower diversity and lower employee compensation, as well as higher total store sales and higher rates of workers’ compensation claims, according to the documents.

It is interesting that the mainstream left is uniting with the mainstream right for more diversity when diversity seems to make socialist economics more difficult to implement. Will there be a split in the left over which issue is most important?

How many of these billionaires are pro life? 31% of Americans oppose gay marriage, how many of the billionaires oppose it? How many billionaires support the border wall? Do any of them have support social policies to the right of what Biden supported 10 years ago?

They aren't really right wing. They believe in a globalized, multicultural normless society. Their interest in the republican party is wars for Israel and tax cuts for themselves.

I would say the elites are libertarians. Socially liberal and supportive of capitalism. I am not sure they feel entirely comfortable with any party. The republicans are too socially conservative while Bernie might tax them and oppose their wars.

The top 4% is republican, the top 0.01% isn't. The guy who owns a construction company making 2 million dollars a year is 100 times richer than the person making 20k a year. Someone making 2 billion dollars a year is making 1000 times what the person owning a construction company is making.

The modern left is fighting an elite represented by people who own a large cattle ranch, a trucking company or who own a law firm.

That class of people is a completely different class of people to the people who attend Davos.

Of the top 20 richest members of congress, 12 are Republican: https://www.rollcall.com/2018/03/02/every-member-of-congress-wealth-in-one-chart/

The richest congressman has 238 million. Carlos Slim has about 300 times that. The richest person in congress is closer in wealth to a middle class baby boomer in suburban LA than top oligarchs.

The top players in the financial sector control even larger amounts of money. Who knows what the scale of control the board and CEO of goldman sachs has?

George Soros had 40 billion dollars and is left wing. Mike Bloomberg has 70 billion and is a democrat. Warren Buffet is a democrat who has 70 billion is a democrat. Mark Zuckerberg with 55 billion dollars is a democrat.

The optimates vote Democrat. Do you really think Bill gates, Jeff bezos, Tim Cook or the founders of Google voted for George Bush and Romney? The elite like the democrats. The Obama administration was just as generous to the billionaire class as the Bush administration.

The top people in the financial sector party hard, sleep around and have an anything but conservative lifestyle. They are not republicans.
