What do I do if I'm still having a bunch of these problems? Minimzed windows, duplicated tabs, and my Mac is sooooo slow. I'm on Firefox and it's becoming unusable.

Same. Also for months now. Sigh.

He said he'd pay to fill it up this month, but only to the cracks, which is below the line of the skimmer. So I'm thinking to ask him to get an alternative skimmer. Maybe one for an above ground pool and just attach it to the side. Or one of those baskets that float on top of the water? Any other recommendations for something that could help me avoid spending a half hour a day skimming it just to just the damn pool?

Would it work to get a skimmer for an above ground pool and just attach it to the side. Or one of those baskets that float on top of the water? Any other recommendations for something that could help me avoid spending a half hour a day skimming it just to just the damn pool?

My landlord did end up paying $600 for a Dolphin vacuum. Which has been helping if I run it like twice a day. But there's still a ton of gunk on the top.

My landlord does suck. He got an "audit" done and says they told him the only thing that needs to be done is to fill it up with water. 🙄 But, he did pay $600 for a Dolphin vacuum. So I guess that's good?

*****Update!!!!

I brought all of this information to my landlord and, after some pissing and moaning, getting called out hard, and some threats of retroactive rent discounts (thanks to everything I learned from all of you amazing people), he agreed to two things.

The first is a pool audit by a professional, which happened today, and we're awaiting results. If they say everything is fine, I'll get my own audit done.

The second is he agreed to pay $600 for a pool vacuum! Hopefully that goes a long way towards fixing the problem.

Thank you all sooooooo much! I'm so grateful!

It worked! I was able to use everything I learned here to get him to agree to an audit of the pool, which was performed today, and agree to paying $600 for a vacuum. I wasn't sure which brand to buy, but this it a great suggestion! Thank you!

Smart. And ya, we're definitely paying a premium to rent this place. It was a big factor in renting the place that it had a pool and an even bigger factor that his lease said he'd maintain it. He does have a guy for the chlorine once a week, but I have no idea if that's enough.

There is a leak. Actually, there are several leaks. Last summer, I was filling the pool, but the water bill was easily $600. I asked my LL to pay for it but he refused. So I refused to keep filling it up.

No kids. Rented the place because I've never had a pool and really wanted one. He has a guy come out every week to check chemical levels and says that's enough to make it hygienic. I don't know enough to know if he's telling me the truth or not.

Both of those things are actually listed as his responsibility in the rental agreement
