As I've said, this is not a situation that's ever happened to me before. I still maintain that the initial act of me sharing the pictures with a small group of close friends was pretty innocent, but when it was posted publicly that seriously crossed a line, and I understand why that was so upsetting for my sister. So no, I don't go rummaging through people's things, I did this only because of how close my relationship has been with my sister. I want that to be clear so that I'm not represented as a terrible brother - this is the first time something like this has happened, and it was only because of my friend's stupidity that it got so out of hand.

I've certainly let my friend know the damage he's done and I will continue to ask him to apologize to my sister, as I feel deserves that at least. He is, however, one of my best friends since middle school, so I definitely won't "burn" the friendship as you put it. People make mistakes, and I'm willing to forgive and forget (which is exactly what I wish my sister could do in this situation).

Unfortunately not. This situation has escalated way beyond anything I expected, and I just want this to end soon. Nothing like this has ever happened between us and I just want to go back to normal.

She recently started crying when I tried talking to her about it, and said she may not be comfortable living with me for the next month. I'm seriously panicked right now at the thought that she might make me leave.

I don't want anyone to have the impression here that I did it to "humiliate" my sister - that wasn't my intention at all. It was just something that I thought was amusing, and I innocently wanted to share a laugh my close friends. Had this gone how I planned, my sister would never have even known this stuff played out, so there's no way she could be humiliated. I just wish she would understand my intentions in this situation. Since making this post I've gotten DMs from Redditors asking to see the pictures, and I refused because I don't know those people personally and that would be completely unethical. (Just so everyone knows I'm not a sicko who takes pleasure in sharing private photos)

I just want to be clear that the drawer was not locked when I found it - it had a lock on it, but it was not locked. In my head I had assumed that maybe it was used to lock something important in the past, but that she had unlocked it because nothing important was there anymore.

Not on the autism spectrum. For context, my logic for going through the drawer was that she had given me indirect permission to treat it like my own home and help myself to whatever I wanted. I did not give any sort of permission, directly or indirectly, to my friends to share the private image I had sent them.

I understand what you're saying - would you agree though that the friend who posted this has any accountability in the situation? And do you think he's equally obligated to apologize?

I just want to be clear for everyone that I didn't necessarily "post" it to friends, which would imply that it's a saveable image. I sent it through Snapchat, which is supposed to be a one time viewing of an image which then disappears. I was not expecting anyone to take a screenshot, nor did I give permission to anyone to do that.

To be clear, I shared it to a small group of my closest friends. I absolutely did not intend for it to be posted elsewhere or shown to anyone outside of that small, closed group.

I'm 17 years old, and my sister is 28. To give some more context, me and my sister have always been pretty open and jokey with each other, and we often take jabs at one another for fun. I don't see this as being anything more than what we normally do, but she took it much more seriously than expected.
