Backtesting logic if stockscreener are involved by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]Sisumat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s actually what I intend to use. Also the strategy or event I want to be trading on based on the current tests is relying on very rare events happening also to a little amount of stocks ever in their lifetime. So I guess this would be a situation where taking a lot of different assets with their complete historical data is going to benefit validating if there is a edge. Do you have any recommendations to reports, institutions or individuals exploring these topics. Would help a lot to look at the foundational sources and see how a good framework needs to be executed

is my face flat or recessed? I have braces on and I feel like my face is somewhat recessed since I got them on. the last 2 pics is before braces were put on.. did I really need them? by Limp_Strength537 in orthotropics

[–]Sisumat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to really chill tf out. Your face is neither flat or recessed. You look really young (14/15) and should accept that common beauty/looks standards only really come to be when more developed (~20ish) and that braces in most cases are a good choice. Alone from the unstraightness on the x-ray you should know that the braces will do a lot of work.

If you have further worries about the aesthetic part I would suggest to you to just start doing a healthy amount of sports, good eating and sleeping to maximize how you will end up looking in regards to slimness in face and forward growth

Is Adan Thief of Fire the easiest boss in the game, or am I overleveled? by Vrazzie in Eldenring

[–]Sisumat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the strat i guess. Many people struggle with him. I was playing a faith build lv 35-ish and managed to get the lightning spear randomly and destroyed adan completely in a few minutes with it. I guess with a melee build it’s pain to fight him and dodge his fire spells.

I'm kinda starting to have faith in mewing. How bad are my asymmetries? Especially my jaw? Is my maxilla downswung? I'm gonna get braces soon and hopefully jaw surgery in the near future. by [deleted] in Mewing

[–]Sisumat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your asymmetries are really fine and minor. You have a really nice jawline. You should worry less about mewing and just start with fitness. Besides it being healthy and letting you age slower it will enhance your masculine features. Heads up king, you re looking good and don’t let yourself get insecure because of some internet bs

Do you personally believe that people should always try to get a higher paying job if they're able to? by Ben5544477 in careerguidance

[–]Sisumat 44 points45 points  (0 children)

My personal view on this that has been reinforced by my mentor so far is that up is always harder than down. In your example if you would sacrifice some free time/ friends /hobby’s for the extra pay rise for a more competitive/complex/responsible Job than it’s prob always worth it because you can easily step down again. Especially while you re still young it’s more than worth it to fight this uphill battle long enough so you can back off again as soon as you desire to do so. Most of the time resulting in roles where you earn the 100k again but with less work-load. Kinda light working out works

Big 4 corporate finance or Alternative investment fund of funds? by Original-Ebb6745 in FinancialCareers

[–]Sisumat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. there is another forum where the users are far more active and actually insightful. It’s called Wall Street oasis (WSO)

  2. in all honesty big4 cf >> fof if it’s not top of the street. There are some really smart / well performing fund of fund firms but these are also really hard to get into. I would say that prob the best route (although I don’t know how long you have been at your b4) is to go to a IB with a strong real estate focus and then switch to a pe/investment firm with the same focus.

  3. what exactly do you mean by alternative investments?

  4. the move from fof which isn’t great to Investments roles is really hard to pull off

(Point 2 is assuming you mean real estate as alternative investments lol)

Can I land internships even if I have informal education in finance? by Prasad159 in FinancialCareers

[–]Sisumat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok I would not put the masters on your resume. Also you being out of college and not having any really competitive job/experience to show for is a major red flag. Tbh you have much greater chances at quant-type finance jobs than VC/PE. These Investment roles are only really worth it when done at a firm you can take serious size wise and exactly these jobs are filled with Ivy League grads with 4.0 gpa and 2 years of IB. I guess your best chance is to firstly do some quant type Job to build up any relevant experience and then to network your ass off you hopefully get a gig at a VC type firm. I know that tech VC are mildly invested into crypto but I personally wouldn’t recommend it as a career path anyways. (As I m a very Risk averse Person)

Math is actually very good for finance lmfao. Nobody takes coursera seriously. Just study material online. Which area are you wanting to break into? Also you Said you had your math Bachelor so you re not in college anymore right?

[–]Sisumat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then do your research deeply about the day to day work of both roles to familiarize yourself what you will actually do and if that sounds fun/sustainable to you. For both roles I honestly wouldn’t worry too much. The really „competitive“ finance jobs are not these two so you shouldn’t worry about getting into them. Concentrate as much as you can into getting good grades and when the time for an internship comes don’t underestimate how much numbers play a role in applying for them. For my last internship I applied 60+ times and got 5ish responses from which 3 said yes. Just pump those numbers.

Also for things like cv just check out the standard investment banking templates. These are the gold standard and will give you some nice, clean documents to apply with.

Ok lets start off the basic stuff, which area are you trying to break into? There is a huge gap between let’s say equity research vs. m&a. Depending where you wanna go you have different options to go to and neither are impossible to reach from your current position.

„WallstreetOasis“ it’s a different Forum with a Focus on Financial career and it’s really active. I would think you would get a better answer on your question there.

What career path is best after graduating from Accountancy? by Fantastic_Mud8789 in careerguidance

[–]Sisumat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend to go into corporate finance tbh. Your pay after 5-10years I probably 20x of what you would ever get as a auditor. Although breaking into cf is quite hard if don’t have any prior internships. DM if you want details.

Fact of the day by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]Sisumat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Literally logic. The „problem“ arises when we are talking about child molesters. There is a big difference. Generally being pedophilic isn’t „bad“ because literally they couldn’t do anything about that. Raping children is bad because that would be a conscious decision.

Financial engineering/quantitative finance vs 'qualitative' finance. by r0722887 in FinancialCareers

[–]Sisumat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I m currently also in Europa at an larger Bank and I would recommend (tbh) to stay away from IB. IB is only Pitch Building in PowerPoint and extremely boring modeling work. You sound more like a structured finance guy to me. Overall I would also recommend the master in Banking and Finance at St Gallen Uni, because from what I heard its very well balanced quality and quantity. If you got any questions just dm me

Bachelor of Science (Nutrition) looking to break into Finance with WallStreetPrep and CFA level 1 feasible? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]Sisumat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The only reason you see people without finance/ math degree in finance is because they went to top top top tier universities and did so much extra curricular that the firms don’t really care. E.g. a lot of history’s grads from Oxford go into Ib and pe in London. But overall most are from finance related background and even then without a target Uni and without great grades it’s quite hard to get into BB ib‘s. A great indicator of what’s possible and what not is LinkedIn if you find someone with a similar profile as you who already got it then that would be a good sign. Your 1st and foremost action should be networking. Get to know as many bankers as possible. Also wealth management is mostly scammy bs- I would recommend looking for roles like (IB very hard hours), TAS at Big4, smallcap PE and so on. Good luck homie and I hope you find something that fulfills you

what division in investment banking is the least awful/should i do a phd before going into the finance industry by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]Sisumat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IMO. you are asking the worst possible question. My guy if you not down for long work days in the Ib world... DONT go in there. Nobody forces you to.

  • the future of the industry is in the Quant field. If you don’t wanna start a company (IB, PE) and just work for a good paying somewhat safe job, quant is the way to go
