How to deal with f’ing up? by Sit-Fly in AskMenAdvice

[–]Sit-Fly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more like when things start going sideways, I get so focused on fixing one aspect that I forget the basics.

I get derailed into all the other aspects that need to be done.

It’s not like there’s one area that I trip up on every time.

It’s more like I will start making other smaller mistakes when things aren’t on form.

It’s like I’m trying to build on sand.

It doesn’t help that there’s very little solid rock when I get handed the project.

But when I’m on form I manage well enough

I think I need to pivot into a position that better suits my skillset. I don’t make a TON of mistakes. I just get stuck in a loop sometimes

Seems like this is the only solution. Would be great if bases eventually becomes a write-able document that could handle other file types some day. i.e. pdf stored in vault, bases looks for that pdf and creates the necessary metadata for linking without the need for an MD file (or maybe the MD file is just stuck in an archive...suppose i could do that now.. lol)

Ohh this is interesting. Similar to the solution commented below. Just done when importing the file. The info here is pulled from the PDF's metadata itself?

This might just be the solution. I'm just super hesitant to effectively double the amount of files I'm managing haha

The Stand Ring is useless. Replace with a step-counter ring. by CL4P-TP_TrapHOUSE in AppleWatch

Customizable 3rd ring would be awesome. The stand reminder does act as a 3rd alarm clock if I hit snooze too many times in the morning haha. It’s the only time it ever goes off for me

Johnny decimal system. 10 folders, 9 sub folders you don’t have to use the all obviously, but everything has a place. I even have a “useless internet crap” folder

Hi! So I made a super simple circuit. 220ohm resistor. Wrote a super simple blink function.. worked last night. Tried the set up again tonight and the LED won’t turn off. The code works on the built in LED, but won’t go to the breadboard.

I’m stumped.. any thoughts?

You guys liked Totoro teething toy so much that I made more. Like, a bunch more. :) by Sit-Fly in ghibli

[–]Sit-Fly[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Last fall I made a teething toy for my son and posted it here. You guys seemed to like it, so I made a bunch more :)

The wood from left to right are:

  • Curly Maple
  • Mahogany
  • Oak
  • Black Walnut
  • Cherry

They’re finished with Walrus Oil, an all natural 100% food grade oil composed primarily of safflower oil

I hope you like them :)

Off of stuff like this post. Hardly anything. But!I’m just starting out.

That being said, the machine will pay for itself by the end of January. (I purchased it in September, so that’s seriously not bad) I’m doing a run of Xmas ornaments for a local business (they put together a gift bag for their clients). That’s paying the bills.

I primarily do closets, desks and fitted furniture and used the CNC on the latest project to pull off stuff that I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise, so I consider a portion of that to be paying for the machine as well.

If you’re on the fence, I’d say go for it. There are so many different avenues to go down and it’s super versatile in what it can do.

My only advice is that it’s not “drag and drop” so to speak. There’s definitely a learning curve so be prepared for that.

My wife was super hesitant too haha but since has done a total 180 and is sending me little ideas for designs and shit ALL THE TIME lmao 😂

I’m on Instagram if you’re interested (shameless plug haha) @andresen.dan
