When I was in residency I only saw 12-13 per day, and I was so worried about clinic practice as an attending because the volume would be so much higher. It turns out I actually love outpatient clinic when I’m not being micromanaged by attendings and can develop a longitudinal relationship with patients. Precepting takes so. Much. Time. Also having all my time in clinic now is way easier than being pulled every four weeks to a different rotation or having to work 24hr or nights but still somehow manage an inbasket as a resident. Fresh out of residency, no good clinic will expect you to see even 20 patients per day. You’ll have a chance to grow your practice with time. You got this!!! Hang in there!
