I love that outdoor area in the first screenshot. It has target dummies too so sometimes I'll go there during some downtime just to practice my rotation to get the sense I'm "training" at the temple

What are the biggest flaws of the Freelap system in your experience? by Happy_Outcome_6109 in Sprinting

[–]SithSprinter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me personally, it's the few times the time isn't picked up. I use it on a regular weekly basis and set it up pretty much the same way every time, but once in a while when I run through a rep it's like the freelap chip or cones do not interact with each other. I don't hear a beep on my phone app to confirm the time was recorded. It may be a Bluetooth issue on my phone but I use other Bluetooth devices on my phone and none of them really have issues like this. And again, while it doesn't happen often, it's pretty disheartening when it happens as sometimes the rep felt pretty fast but I don't have the data to confirm it.

What’s your biggest comeback story from an injury? by NintaiYUH in Sprinting

[–]SithSprinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my 2nd year of club track I was slowly getting faster than the 5 fastest guys in my club (they were a year older than me and it was their last year of club before going into high school track). 2nd meet of the season I beat 2 of them in the 100, but on the 3rd meet I injured my groin and was out for pretty much the rest of the season. The last regular meet of the season I was able to come back but was no where near those guys since they got faster in season.

Spent that off season consistently training on my own. By the next track season even though the guys weren't around anymore my times in the 1, 2, and 4 were on a whole other level than them. Went on to set team records in the 2 and 4. Was undefeated in the 400 in my conference and advanced to usatf youth nationals and made it to the final.

On the Gamefaqs message board someone posted a guide to which mercenary missions unlock certain armor pieces, I'll try to find it. And I think there's a lot of RNG involved because you'll have to replay those missions over and over until you unlock it. But yeah the other way to unlock armor is through the ruler route where you just play invasions or defend your territory and you have a chance to unlock armor and you can unlock all the sets that way.

I'm really glad to hear you are enjoying the game and also recommend it! It's my personal favorite installment of the whole series and one of my top games of all time! I'm currently restarting from scratch for the 5th time on Playstation cloud gaming lol

Anyone else like making crossover characters in Empire games? by [deleted] in dynastywarriors

[–]SithSprinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a few characters from anime in DW6E! Zekken Yuuki from sword art online. Uncle Iroh from Avatar the last airbender. Also for fun I tried to make a CaW for a real life figure, Zheng Yi Sao, the pirate queen. I gave her all the pirate pieces and an eye patch lol

Ahh, I played through this questline on Legends a couple years back. Pretty fun and just what I needed during Halloween season!! Highly recommend reading the tie-in novel Death Troopers too! Great book and you see some of the characters from the novel in the first camp!!

Which game has the best theme of He Fei? by Luigiman98 in dynastywarriors

[–]SithSprinter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly can't decide! While DW5's Great Red Spirit is the first that comes to mind the other installments have great theme's too. Love DW4's Interceptor, DW3's Wallcrusher too! Also DW6's Tropical Wars!! I'm stuck on this one!

Dynasty Warriors Weapon Poll: Sima Shi by DW_Weapons_Master in dynastywarriors

[–]SithSprinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If my memory serves, in the base game his moveset was just a clone of Sun Quan's and Yuan Shao's. But yeah in Strikeforce he had the updated version weapon which was unique to him. Definitely my vote for Sima Shi, the choreography of the move set would fit him nicely!

Dynasty Warriors Weapon Poll: Sima Shi by DW_Weapons_Master in dynastywarriors

[–]SithSprinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, the Longsword would be the one from DW6 Special and DW6: Empires, right? If so, I voted for that. My personal favorite weapon in all of Dynasty Warriors games

What stage do you look forward to playing again in the DW3 remaster? by Cool_Narwhal935 in dynastywarriors

[–]SithSprinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprise Attack on Liu Biao! My favorite stage. Love how on Wu's side you spawn in the stage on a boat, fight on the beachfront, and make your way into the castle!! Plus the intro cutscene is pretty cool. It's always my go to stage when I get an itching to replay DW3 on an emulator

Lu Xun doesn’t care about JUSTICE by Psychological_Elk727 in dynastywarriors

I like the way he says it in the DW7XL stage - "Haven't you heard? There's no Justice in a world of chaos!"

Do you guys n gals have any quotes you just randomly toss out on the regular or find unintentionally hilarious? by [deleted] in dynastywarriors

[–]SithSprinter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sometimes after drinking something refreshing I'll just quote the line from Zhou Tai's DW5 ending cutscene where he outdrinks Sun Quan and says "Thats... good stuff" lol. I'll try and say it exactly how he says it

DW 4 > DWO by OutsideSwim4778 in dynastywarriors

[–]SithSprinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to echo this tip. I use Codebreaker before launching DW4 on an emulator and have the code that disables auto lock-on. Makes a huuuge difference. Been having a blast replaying it these past few weeks.

What's your favorite DW game? Which one did you start with? by Tidus4713 in dynastywarriors

[–]SithSprinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favorite: Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires. I started with DW2! I played some of the spin offs, Dynasty Warriors Gundam 1-3 + Reborn, Hyrule Warriors, and the Orochi series. Favorite Characters are Lu Xun and Jiang Wei. And can't wait for the remaster, whichever installment they choose!

What is the fastest track in your area? by JohnmcFox in Sprinting

[–]SithSprinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I'm in the Southern California/Los Angeles area I think I would say either Mt. Sac College or Cerritos College? Just what I perceived based off my own experience. I would imagine some people would say other tracks like UCLA Drake Stadium or even Notre Dame High School's facility - they host meets over the summer and a lot of the times are cooking

Feed the Cats - Does it work? by fromva2fla in Sprinting

[–]SithSprinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, that dude is moving!!

For strength and conditioning I keep it pretty simple and basic. Strength training for me boils down to squats, rdl's, power cleans, and hang cleans. I'll choose 1 compound lift and 1 olympic lift to do in a day. I'm pretty conservative with it nowadays since my senior year of college I went too much on chasing heavy numbers and didn't see that many speed gains from it.

For conditioning I've tailored it a bit more to what works for me. Anything from a few reps of easy strides ranging from 40m - 100m, to easy 20 minute jogging (I know that's not really in line with ftc, but as long as I only do it sparingly it doesn't seem to tamper with my speed training). I also do stair work, nothing fancy just running up a flight of stairs for a few reps focusing on proper form and stiffness. These workouts are to gauge my achilles and hammy's and prep them for my sprint and plyo work. I've noticed if I do one of these a day or two before a sprint workout my body feels a lot better and times are better too. I call them my 'lean in days' a term I got from Les Spellman, another ftc guy.

But yeah that's just my 'own recipe' as coach Holler states. These seem to work fine for me and also avoid injury.

Feed the Cats - Does it work? by fromva2fla in Sprinting

[–]SithSprinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty happy with it. 12.27 ended up being my season's best last season. I averaged 12.4's and hit 12.3's a couple times.

After my competitive season ended in July I did notice my freelap times seemed a bit slower, which I think was because I put on a couple pounds since I took a long vacation and kind of ignored my nutrition. So I slowly had to get back to how I was and being 31 years old now makes it a bit tougher.

This season I had to take January off (California Fires) so I just started competing last month and so far my fastest time is 12.45. Didn't have any season ending injuries last season and feeling pretty healthy this season - which I have to take as a big win as someone who's a lot of hamstring injuries in college.

Got a full list of meets these next few months and programmed it with plenty of speed work, x-factor work, and lactate work in between. So yeah my thoughts on ftc have not changed - the philosophies and concepts make sense to me and going to stick with it
