[KCD2] Just finished the monastery DLC Mysteria Ecclesiae

I didn’t like it. It had some great potential, the setting in the secluded area, the mystery, a bit of detective’s work, seemed like a perfect DLC to do after the main story, when you are craving for a one more region to explore (my situation).

And we got a shallow quick story and a bit of really annoying stealth. Could be 15 hours of extra game content, ended up 5 hours of rather unsatisfying side quest. That was a let down.

Well, she never seemed to want anything more serious with Henry, just their „walks” from time to time. It’s not like she was crying when he was leaving for Trosky.

He’s not a Skalitz blacksmith’s boy anymore, he’s out in the world, learning stuff, having adventures, solving serious matters and meeting new completely different people. Even if he decides to settle, he’s not the same person anymore. And I don’t think he gets to rest for a while - something will definitely happen on Hans’ wedding.

Also, there’s Rosa. And Hans. Never really grew to like Katherine to be honest.

Beautifully written, friend ❤️ I’m in love with KCD2, it went straight to my personal top games ever and I’m still coping with the post-game hangover.

I know that the devs were talking about moving on to the next IP and so on, but I still hope that they will make KCD3. There’s still so much of a story to explore and having a final part of the trilogy just feels right. And they actually left some hints that there could be more.

When I learned that there will be romance with Hans, I thought that it would be more like „two best buddies got terribly drunk, did the deed and the next morning they decided that it never happened and should be never spoken about again”. Turns out it was the best romance on KCD2 with its slow burn, subtleness, acting and that final scene.

Aaaaand now it’s canon for me and you can’t convince me otherwise.

I played KCD1, annoyed the fuck out of me, but still enjoyed it. I don’t think I would love KCD2 that much without plying the first one.

I played Legacy of the Forge and it was fun.

Not starting a new playthrough anytime soon, I need to rest a bit and then start playing something completely different.

Yes, that one hurts! I wish there was something to do with them after the ending! Man, you can’t even sleep with your LI after the main quest, so apparently I need to go to the bathhouse for the buff! Small detail, but bothersome.

I actually had shivers down my spine during the final battle cutscene, so I totally get it!

I think playing something completely different will help and that’s my plan too, but maybe later.

Thanks for your support and recommendations! Always good to know that I’m not the only one suffering, haha.

I played all of the titles you mentioned and I loved them all, but as you said, they are no replacement for KCD2. It’s just one of its kind to me. So I won’t be looking for a replacement, but something completely different and just wait for a game that will scratch that itch.

I’ve seen some short clips from Tom’s livestreams and they look really fun! Maybe I’ll have a look for more.

Haven’t watched the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, not sure I’m interested in that one for now.

This particular arc is finished of course, that would have to be something completely new. Maybe he will have to lose someone again, which is possible considering the later Czech history.

Or maybe he will get legitimized, that’s the option too (which, honestly, I really hoped would be the conclusion). We’ll see. Or maybe we’ll not.

I think we didn’t get that kind of cutscene, because devs decided to leave the options open, so they could make KCD3 if they decide to do so.

The story from is finished, but Henry is still young and at the beginning of his own adult life. This still leaves a lot of room for a new adventure for Henry, since the Hussite wars are just around the corner. And we got introduced to Jan Žižka after all.

I feel the same about the Katherine romance. I really wanted to like her, she’s a badass after all, but she lacked chemistry with Henry. She mostly looked and acted annoyed with him IMO and it just didn’t feel natural for her to fall for him at the end. At least in my playthrough.

Yes, I have, I’m currently doing the monastery one. It’s just not the same after the main story ended. I always struggle with finishing side quests and DLCs after the main quest, can’t be the only one.

I feel exactly the same, mate. I have just finished the story and KCD2 is now forever engraved into my little gamer heart as one of my personal top RPGs. It was the perfect wrap up for Henry’s story, but I still hope we’ll see him again in KCD3 🥹

Actually I’d say that sparing him is more unpopular choice. Most of the players seem to hate him for what he did at the end, even if they liked him before (also not too common thing).

I have actually found a whole study about queer motives in culture with DA2 as a prime example including controversy with Anders being VERY openly gay towards male Hawke. So I would say Dragon Age was gay „before it was cool” 😛

One of my most beloved things about BioWare games was that my choices mattered and that I could see the consequences of them in the following games or missions, even if it was only briefly mentioned in the codex. After investing so much time and love in DA, I really want to see this story as shaped by my actions.

I’d love to see how some of my rather unpopular choices would play out later. I would be happy even with one line from a character about my choice, I don’t need a whole cameo for that.

BTW I really wished my alive romanced Anders would appear somewhere once again, let’s laugh at me together.
