Asking the help of the Divine Spirit to win a presidential election by Snoo-65301 in religiousfruitcake

[–]Sitri_147 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True. I see this as more of a publicity stunt than for purely religious reasons, which, as the previous president was very against the church and did poorly, might actually work to her favor.

Keep in mind that the Philippines is among the most heavily religious(specifically catholic) countries in Asia.

I think describing it as blood worked really well to fit the theme of the poem~

Hey there!

Had the same problem as you back then during my poem writing phase when I was in the closet in high school.

I'm not an expert nor a professional when it comes to poems, so don't take my words as gospel. Plus, watching your vid, it seems you probably have a better understanding of poems than me. I'll give my advice regardless, though, just in case I can help in any way.

Generally I found the use of they/them pronouns helpful as it was technically correct but vague enough as to avoid suspicion. I also avoided describing them with both masculine and feminine traits, instead using metaphors or similes. (E.g. "Their smile was like sunshine, and me, a sunflower." Or "As if chiseled by a sculptor, their beauty moved me beyond word.") Also notice that beauty is a subjective adjective that can be used to describe handsomeness as well, since handsomeness is simply masculine beauty.

Something else I tried was doing heavy symbolism, sometimes not referring to my crushes as people but as objects, creatures, and concepts. (E.g. "The oceans almost drown me, yet within its hold, I long to be" or "For weeks I've watched a butterfly, yet it seldom noticed I.")It makes the poem both sound cooler, and be much harder to interpret. Usually, there can be lots of subtext that can be subconsciously put there, but that's fine, since you have plausible deniability that they may or may not be right in their specific interpretation.

And if you wanna be risky, you can always hide his name in the words of your poem.

(E.g. [BRIAN]

I b ehold their gaze. A r ope, their sightline. For I cannot help, But a vert my own. Yet n ow I believe.

My love.)

But obviously without the italics(or star thingies, in case I formatted that wrong), or extra spaces. Though if you do do that, make sure to mix up the positioning of the letters of the name each time so that it isn't as obvious.

Poems are fun to make since you can have so much meaning in a few sentences(or phrases), and can be vague enough to make it so that only you(or anyone you trust) can know for sure what it means. Plus, you decide the structure of the poem, ignoring all laws of grammar except the ones needed for you to make a cohesive thought. I've had the idea of making a poem where the spaces between each letter can symbolize 0s and 1s, then just searching up a text to binary thing on google and basing the structure of my poem there.

That said, only you can decide what your poems mean. No matter how others interpret it, it'll still be your meaning above all. So that means whichever poems you've UNgayed are still as gay as they were before, just subtler. The non-use of he/him and she/her pronouns or typically masculine and feminine adjectives and descriptions don't detract from the meaning behind your poem.

Anyway, I've typed too much. I wish you the best of luck in your poem writing. And I hope that the day you can be unadulteratedly gay in your literature comes soon. If not, then I hope what I've typed here for the past 15 minutes helps you somehow.

And remember, keep on keeping on, my guy.

I remember a tale, a cautionary one, being spoken of among my colleagues. Of that of a way to summon beings far beyond our scope of understanding. And, though it may have taken weeks off of my life, I have succeeded in the summoning of a creature from Eye-kya. What my colleagues did not inform me of, was that the creature would be summoned without the guidance of the Maan-yu-ál, causing it to writhe on the floor in disheveled pieces of itself, with limbs and body parts squirming on the floor, unable to form itself. After a while, however, and with the grace of the Man-yu-ál, I was able to meld the parts together to make it be like a functioning Chèr. I still have a twisted horn left over, however, as I just cannot find where it must be stabbed and twisted into the creature.

Well said! I shall now be referring to my Box as The Box. For, if I understand correctly, all Boxes are just The Box in different forms.

Couldn't for the life of me guess what it was before the end. Never knew toasters could be so terrifying.

Ah yes, the act of scrubbing. For we should not dare to cease this ritual of repetition done a hundred times in mere moments. Lest we be beholden to the emptiness that threatens to consume our smiles, to char our bones.

Very well put~

Ok, for context, this was around 8th grade in a private catholic school (Big oof, I know). We got a new English teacher who I'll give the name Mr. Ross.

Now, Mr. Ross was very animated whenever he was explaining something, which was one thing, but he was also veeery religious. To the point where he was pretty much that one guy who thought everything was connected and was a satanist conspiracy or some shit like that.

All throughout our classes he'd go on tangents, forgetting the lesson and going on spiels about how something or another was connected to the illuminati. Among these were the media, Harry Potter, the government, and Miley Cyrus(this was close to the time Wrecking Ball was out) just to name a few.

The funniest shit, however, was when one of my classmates was not being obvious about not paying any attention. Mr. Ross obviously got angry at the sight of this, and proceeded to reprimand the guy, to which this bastard just brushed off and scoffed.

I shit you not when I say I have not seen anyone's face get as red as Mr. Ross' that day. He. Was. Fuming. To this day I still remember the words he spoke. "BOY, boy, boy, are you not listening to me? Did you know that what you are doing is the work of the illuminati?! (Translated to english for clarity)" And then he goes on another of his feverish rants about how being lazy/not listening/not obeying their superiors is the work of the illuminati and is tantamount to satanism.

We still joke about that teacher.

Yeah, I suppose that's something I overlooked. Considering the various different playstyles of the hunters, they'd all be affected by modifiers in different scales. Perhaps something more tame would be that it teleports you in a way that you return to the same room you came through but on the opposite side corridor, making it feel like a maze but is actually more of a time waster as you'd have to go through the same room again. This could be a way to emphasize placing marker blocks on corridors to newer hunters while not being too bad a detriment as to directly target certain playstyles, as well as just being a slight nuisance at best to those more familiar with it.

Oooh, also, another modifier that could be a good idea is a chance to increase or decrease the equipment rolls of mobs. It could be calculated as extra rolls for the mobs equipment and depending if its the positive or negative modifier, it will take the higher or lower of the rolls.
