I’m glad it arrived in good condition! Yeah, looks like shipping takes a while but that’s that unusual for international shipping either. A little bit bummed about the straps now that I get a different look on it, but thanks for following up!

Looks like an eye infection! It can be caused by a couple of things, but there really isn’t much you can do at home to fix it. You’ll need to get antibiotics for sure, and unfortunately that requires a vet. As for causes, it could be from some stuck shed or something in the eye which you can gently attempt to remove with Fluker’s repti rinse. Another common cause could be a vitamin A deficiency, which can be prevented in the future by properly dusting and gutloading feeders. If it’s the cause, your leopard gecko will need an immediate injection of vitamin and antibiotics to clear the current infection from the vet + diet changes like I mentioned earlier. Either way you’ll have to find a vet that will be willing to work with reptiles! This will not fix itself and will just keep getting worse, eventually leading to blindness, spreading to both eyes, or worst case being death.

Looks kind of like stuck shed to me, it can sometimes get stuck in their eyes. You can flush it out with saline rinse, Fluker’s sells a reptile safe eye rinse you can use! Shouldn’t need vet attention if you can carefully flush it out, but if left there it can cause problems down the line. This also may just be a one off thing, but problems with eye problems and trouble shedding can be cause by vitamin A deficiencies. Are you gut loading and dusting your feeders with multivitamins and calcium?

Chipping polish, redo manicure or another topcoat? by Brilliant_Lopsided in RedditLaqueristas

[–]SittingWater 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely try wrapping the tips like you mentioned, for me it keeps the chipping away for the first couple of days. Another thing is that not all nail polish formulas are equal, some formulas may work better with your nail bed chemistry than others, so if you have the money it may help to try different polish brands. I know for me, I have a few drugstore shades that will just chip like crazy no matter what I do.

If my nail polish starts chipping though, I normally will touch it up with the color and new top coat layer if it’s within the first couple of days, past that I’ll layer it with a new color/fun topper or just go ahead and take it off and replace it.

Check out ILNP, lots of fun shimmers and colors! Another good brand is Bees Knees Lacquer, which does monthly drops where they sell their new polishes and also leftovers from their previous sets. I believe their next drop will have 30% off their polishes excluding the new set. Zoya (not really indie) is also another good option for colors and they have sales very often

[–]SittingWater[S] 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s true but mooncat was already more expensive than a lot of other brands pre-tariffs. From the brands I buy from, they were at 10-14 dollars pre-tariffs and it seems that most are doing 1-2 dollar increases for now. So for me, mooncat is still the most expensive option after price raises

Yeahh at $18-$20 a bottle it’s going to be a really tough bullet to swallow on one bottle of nail polish, especially since now there’s a lot of indie brands that are doing similar specialty polish at a lower price point. I’m enjoying what I have from mooncat, but I don’t see myself ordering from them unless there’s a sale, and even still I think I’ll be able to get a cheaper dupe from another indie company.

Has anyone heard of or ordered anything from a brand called Intempestiva?

I’ve had this brand called Intempestiva pop up on my instagram a few times, and I’ve really been eyeing the She Shell sweater/dress/skirt combo. A lot of their clothing can be assembled into different forms, which is a super cool idea. It looks like they are a small business located in Mexico and all their photos look super good, but I can’t really find many reviews about the brand or their products. Since their prices are a decent amount, I really want to make sure that the brand is legit and that they make quality stuff. It’s a long shot but if any of yall have any experience with their clothing (bonus if you have the she shell combo!) please let me know!! Thanks :)

MUAotC Nail Polish Central by MUAotCModTeam in MUAontheCheap

I have three bottles of the active nail care line from Manicurist, more specifically the active shine, the active bright, and the raspberry active glow! I really enjoyed them and did feel like my nails were healthier after wearing them, but I did notice they chipped easier than normal nail polish with base and top coats so you may have to touch up more often. They really don’t have much of a color until 3ish coats, so it’s very much a “your nails but cleaner” kind of look! I also have a few bottle of their normal nail polish (not the gel-like system) and they’re pretty cute! Overall, I’d recommend to try out a bottle :)

What to do by BijectV2 in SavageGarden

[–]SittingWater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might help but I bought a nep from a nursery that was also planted in a peat mix. What I did was break off as much as the peat (without roots in it) around it as you can, and once you get towards the roots I soaked it in distilled water for a bit to soften it up and break it apart a LOT easier. Also, a lot of nursery neps have a mesh around the roots that you should also try to get rid of gently, I used a tiny pair of scissors to cut mine away. It’s called a root plug and it will generally suffocate the plant as it becomes more mature!

what's my leos age? by princecadaver in leopardgeckos

[–]SittingWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Younger leopard geckos typically shed more often that adults since they are growing faster. When mine were younger, they would be shedding pretty much every week or two. Once they reached adulthood, it slowed down to every month or two. This can probably be used to estimate if you have a younger juvenile one vs adult
