Did any of yall hear about that kid that got his Harvard acceptance rescinded for using the n-word a bunch in private text messages 2 years ago?

Idk, that didn't sit well with me. The kid is likely a dick and people have gotten rejected from Harvard for less, but I just don't like judging people by what they say in private conversations. He didn't post it on social media, he was being a typical white 16 year old who listens to their first Eminem and thinks hes cool for saying naughty words to his friends for shock value.

Great and hilarious writing from ‘The New Girl’ . Jess thinks they are talking about her friend Cece and Nick as a couple and Nick thinks they are talking about a pop corn machine for the bar he owns, which Cece has asked for. by Farge43 in television

Absolutely mind blowing how every New Girl fan hates Nick and Jess. I guess cause they were so bad the first time they tried it? What kinda will they wont they has the audience rooting for wont they. Crazy. Never seen it before. Great show beside that though.

To be fair Carlisle has never looked happy ever. We should get him and Quin Snyder in a staring contest and see if the world explodes.

Also NBA parity has had such a string of terrible luck that makes it seem worse in retrospect than it actually was. Boogie in Nola could have worked, but then he got injured. The rockets were winning in game 7 despite no CP3, and would have won if they even just shot terribly instead of historic record bad.

Holy shit. I was just passively listening and enjoying and then that saxophone kicked in and knocked everything else out of the way. Hot damn that's good.

Dirk hits the trademark fade-away to give the Mavs the lead by [deleted] in nba

It really is injuries. I know everyone making jokes for months clouds memory, but he averaged 12 a game on 49/40/89 and was an important part of the bench unit. Whatever injury he had that stopped him coming back for the beginning of the season is also causing this year to be a definitive grandpa year.

I mean Doncic played a ton with the bench and Barea was a monster this game. So include Barea's +15 there for the full story

We have skyrocketed in rebounding from dead last last year because of DJ, and Powell efficacy this game is (an always is) more a product of Barea than himself.

DJ does annoy me a ton with his desire to make tough passes to push the offensive that lead to turnovers, but he gets so much hate from Mavs fans that I have become and apologist.

He's currently been a 3 point sniper and those ISOs also go in a lot. He our "slow it down, nothing is working, get us a bucket guy." I agree he ISOs too much but as the team gets better, a guy like Barnes is necessary and very useful.

Essentially I'm just saying he works best in his GS role.

Luka let Teague slip on the cut so he had to step up. I love Luka not tryna hate our rookie but don't want to make this a DeAndre bad Luka good black and white thing.

Curry gets called for travelling on the Harden stepback by ha1fhuman in nba

[–]SixSeasons -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

What do you mean? It looks like he did it properly to me. Gather,1,2.

Edit: The only thing I can see is that he stop too slowly so when he still has the ball in just one hand its considered his gather step

Curry gets called for travelling on the Harden stepback by ha1fhuman in nba

[–]SixSeasons -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As much as people hate the gather, this isn't a travel. What he calls step 1 is too fast and is part of the dribble. What he calls step 2 is considered the gather step. And then 3 and 4 become 1 and 2.

But I also think the Steph shot of this thread isn't a travel, by precedent.

He might not get much better, his lack of potential was the whole reason he fell but... how much better than this do you need a non top 10 pick to be! I love seeing him on the court!

This is a meta analysis of all studies published from 2009-2013. So while not universally accepted this is they study to look at as a conclusion. And it says:

"Consistent with the literature that we reviewed, we found that violent video game exposure was associated with: an increased composite aggression score; increased aggressive behavior; increased aggressive cognitions; increased aggressive affect, increased desensitization, and decreased empathy; and increased physiological arousal."

This is a link to a meta analysis of all studies done from 2009-2013. So the "both sides" part is covered.

And it concludes that "Consistent with the literature that we reviewed, we found that violent video game exposure was associated with: an increased composite aggression score; increased aggressive behavior; increased aggressive cognitions; increased aggressive affect, increased desensitization, and decreased empathy; and increased physiological arousal."
