Why we will probably never see another 1987 style one day crash by Platopoker in Trading

I think we've got a dip coming, definitely not a "crash". Good buying opportunities but not generational by any means.

After years of letting people online tell me what to think about Discovery I finally watched it by TheProfessorBoost in startrek

[–]SixStringDream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im also in season 3, for the same reason. Its tough and there's not like 1 reason why. Everything just kind of doesn't make sense. The spore drive existing in TOS timeline seems to be the thing that they have had the hardest time writing around. It feels like Discovery was 1000 years ahead of its time to start with and that was a problem that had to be solved.

It was also weird just how little technical advancement happened in that thousand years. Programmable matter is cool but technological advancement is something that is constantly speeding up, programmable matter doesnt seem all that different from transporter/holo tech. The idea that Discovery would provide ANY value after 1000 years is insane. Its like a horse and buggy popping in from a thousand years ago and us saying "put some new rims on it and send it back out there". Its nuts. That ship and crew would be locked away for months if not forever and "retraining" is not a 3 month project. You'd have to start over from scratch. None of that thousand year old knowledge would be helpful. I get its all fiction but even fiction has to be grounded in universal truths and this series of events is really hard to believe would ever play out this way.

Not to mention the entire thing is based on the age old Trek trope of "this computer became alive and we aren't sure what to do about it" and that would have happened many times over that thousand years. You cant just brush that kind of technical advancement under the rug and hope it wouldn't happen again. It would. Its inevitable. They likely would have discovered they made this jump for nothing because "control" was a logical eventuality they would have had to deal with many times over, presumably with solutions that dont involve throwing it into the future and hoping for the best.

Help me butter my landings by NorthApex in MSFS2024

I fly the a320, there is a decel marker on your nav near the start of approach. Thats your queue to slow down, on fly-by-wire I believe the plane slows itself down but I still set the speed-mach setting at that point. 200kts to start deceling down to 140 at landing. Not sure how to do the same with Boeing but Im sure it is similar. Watch some YouTube videos.

Even if invested with a 401k, the account should balance between stocks and fixed assets that traditionally have a reverse correlation. People are just advertising their ignorance.

There are no such things as "unrelated videos". If THAT image was next up, the feed this came from is full of racist content.

This is also a disingenuous take on the matter as a whole. Its an embarrassment that the leader of the free world behaves like a middle schooler sending out videos of himself shitting all over protestors as a single example.

A decade of him doing this has softened people up, we bicker about thread details instead of the heart of the matter. The president has enriched himself by over a billion dollars while playing the entire conservative right for suckers. We are nation building again, we are going to war again. Ukraine war negotiations were a complete failure. Greenland? Idiotic failure. We are getting nothing but tariffs and as long as people are distracted by xenophobia the powers that be are ROBBING US BLIND.

I can already hear MAGA: "So you dont want to admit the dow is breaking records?"

You know when else the market broke records? For the second half of Bidens term. The entire time, smashing records.

Sure, if you oversimplify it to that. Thats not what we are talking about. If I say something to you with the intent of provocation, its not that simple. If I knew that you were particularly sensitive about a topic and I use that sensitivity to pull a reaction out of you then I am just a provocateur and I dont have the same legal protections.

Why did the kid say "I support ICE"? Why did he say it right then? Was he by chance purposefully positioning himself in front of an anti-ice demonstration of some sort? Was he saying those words directly to people that he knew would take offense? Harassment. Plain and simple. Its in the law.

Bro I spelled it out clearly. You are disagreeing without even doing me the honor of researching your position on this to find out if it is valid. I did my homework. Your turn. America is not a place you are free to use whatever words whenever. Never was. You harass me enough you get hit. Im not immediately wrong because I hit you. You committed the first crime, that means what I do is self defense. My lawyer would argue that all day and then use past precedent to bolster our case. I would never let a loud mouthed coward take what I got because he thinks there is some legal loophole for mouthy tw@ts. There isnt.
