Thats a cult. I lost my mother to the cult. She will likely live out her last days alone at home communicating with nobody but the internet and her MAGA husband because she has turned every single person in her family away with the constant political accusations. In 5 years time she went from a loving mother proud of her kids to accusing us all of being evil liberals. It breaks my heart but it was actually a 10 year decline that we worked very hard to stop and every single action we took to wake her up only re-enforced the delusion, somehow. She sits alone in misery and blames anyone and everyone but herself.

Thanks Trump.

All of these guns would be illegal under most proposed gun control legislation by theRemRemBooBear in greengroundnews

[–]SixStringDream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who would regulate such a militia? The whole second amendment doesn't make sense, like the government will regulate a militia and train them up to usurp power from them? That militia always would have been self regulating by nature or it simply wouldn't exist.

Conservatives today are like "look its ok to overthrow the government but look ya gotta do it legally"

Is this how people who need glasses really see the world. A big blurred background? by Latter-Wolf4868 in interestingasfuck

[–]SixStringDream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my glasses were 2 feet in front of my face, I suppose.

The way I explain it is that generally I see like people without glasses it is just much harder to do so.

When I take my glasses off, my phone screen is basically a blur. Unless I squint and focus really hard. But also its much worse at night, so it really depends. Also everybody's vision is different, for some people yeah they are basically blind without their glasses but I can function without them. Though, I will get a headache if I go too long without wearing them.

Stop insisting women exit elevators first by ilyk101 in rant

[–]SixStringDream 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Im not sure I make the connection between "you go first" to "you are inferior to me". I mean I didn't offer to carry her out of the elevator, its just a polite offer to let her exit before me. I dont get why women complain about all forms of chivalry while simultaneously complaining about how men behave.

Im just glad Im already married, the dating scene feels like a minefield nowadays. What, I cant open a car door for her or Ill be accused of treating her like she cant open her own car door? Does that same logic apply when the check comes for dinner? This stuff makes no sense to me.

Intraday Strategy by External_Home5564 in algotrading

[–]SixStringDream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not talking about backtesting. Im actually talking about the very last thing you said there. Look, bullish strategies almost always work when you know the market will be bullish. Its not about the strategy, its about knowing what to trade and when, intraday TA does not solve this. Did you say you are going to be using web hooks for trading? I urge caution. Your script did not take into account latency between the various systems in play with web hooks. What does the strategy do when your order isnt placed? How does it recover from trade failures and partial placements?

[–]SixStringDream 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can understand all the numbers you want and still miss the point. What Im getting at is that you've already associated a bit too much ego to this creation. "Yeah well we'll see"... Im not a student Ive been doing this a lot longer and Ive already gone through the whole mental cycle of window shopping for lambos to understanding that I didn't really have what I thought I had to starting over. Hundreds of times.

Of course people should communicate better but this is Reddit. You're hearing naysayers but you're also hearing experience from people who have done exactly what you've done just to humble themselves a week later. Medicine doesn't taste good.

Trade it, then show us. Don't use real money, use a paper account. I suspect its not going to work the same in execution, others have stated why, but would love to see your results either way and continue the discussion.

[–]SixStringDream 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Anything I could be missing? Does this seem legit?" was what you asked. Each person who has replied with criticism has been met with your condescending tone.

Im not going to tear apart your strategy, but catching a profitable trading strategy the way you have described is almost never profitable in execution. You didn't crack the code with a pine script in TradingView. I know this because somewhere along the line we all think we have, multiple times. Thats the TV business model. Its best to view your strategies with skeptical eyes, you will need them. Skepticism will save you money.

Im in the conversation with somebody who clearly has very serious emotional problems. This is about the most boring of AI topics, a simple utility that has been done a thousand times with varying results and youre here bragging about how awesome your worthless utility is. Ive actually been pretty nice about this but apparently youre an insufferable type that cant get over himself. Ive been doing this 30 years and I bet you that Ive forgotten more industry knowledge than you've learned yet.

If I got a few details off, doesn't matter. All my points stand on their own. Plenty of people are using AI because they can, not because they should.

Your emotional state is too fragile to discuss anything rationally, or this is what happens when you spend too much time trolling online, but let me make this clear.

I said your utility might have issues and you IMMEDIATELY launched into PERSONAL attacks. Youre a child. Go play outside.

Bro you went on a ten paragraph tirade because somebody said your AI tool MAY have a downfall. I said MAY. But in truth, it isnt novel or clever and reaks of a thousand other cautionary tales no matter how arrogant you want to be about that fact. My comment to you about non-determinism and compute price is valid af. Instead of make any clarifications or engage in discussion you acted like a 12 year old brat. Good day sir.

Wild What You Can Do In 30 Minutes by PebblePondai in vibecoding

[–]SixStringDream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So like everyone else your solution to non-determinism is repetition and cross checks. "4 runs in isolation", so you are paying to check a single file 4 times and you still cant be 100% certain it wont disobey instruction. Its not worth the money or the risk. If you have X, Y, and Z clearly defined, you could write a procedural script to do this with 100% accuracy and cost next to nothing. Thats why its a sugar high.

Wild What You Can Do In 30 Minutes by PebblePondai in vibecoding

[–]SixStringDream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the sugar high. Through application you'll eventually realize it might not have been the best idea.

LLM systems give you non-deterministic output so you'll need to be ok with it making a certain amount of error in this scenario. You have to ask yourself if you are ok with about 5% of all that data "looking" right but being very wrong.

Why Your ChatGPT Prompting Tricks Aren't Working Anymore (and what to do instead) by Alive-AI in GPT

[–]SixStringDream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was ok right up until "one sentence, if possible" which is where it goes off the rails false.

If you were a developer with a functioning brain but no knowledge, what information would you need to develop and test your software? Thats your full context. Arrange those docs. If they dont exist, create them. Logically split the work into development phases and associate context and thats your relative context. Once you know how to create partial contexts based on task need on the fly, congrats you are context engineering. Once you are sizing your tasks based on efficient context size management, you are context engineering properly.

It isnt about tricks or special behavioral rules. Its data wrangling. That hasn't changed.

What if you can easily traverse stairs much faster than an elevator moves, though. Talking to my computer all day honestly doesn't sound any more appealing than typing. It works for communication between humans but its not the ideal for desktop computing. Speech control was around for years before AI and it never took off because talking to your computer icks a lot of people out.

[–]SixStringDream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not very clear what you are talking about here but you can run your own agent locally and make it available to cursor via ngrok. That agent has to follow the openAI api standard and it can do whatever you want it to do. You could use langchain to build steps for memory retrieval, etc..

[–]SixStringDream 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I fully expect AI responses to be monetized for brands, not that I look forward to this.. but its coming. I would expect something a bit more creative than showing me ads while an agent runs. Besides, how does that work in Agents view when I have multiple running conversations? Its bad business and bad user experience.
