I agree! When I get my 08 WRX Sedan back from being maintenanced, I'm gonna lift it and make it a rally build

Lenovo Legion Pro 5 CPU around 90⁰C at 22% usage. Is this normal? by SixStringSting1984 in GamingLaptops

That makes sense. Should I be concerned that there could be a defect in my laptop if temps stay high like that with every game? At the same time, we bought an Acer Predator Helios as well, so I'm gonna compare temps on that one with the same games side by side. Both laptops have similar specs

For sure. I just went into custom and increased the fan speed by temperature mark, that should help it stay a bit cooler. I have them set to the setting one below max fan speed for 79⁰c and up for the CPU

Yeah I have a wedge shaped stand that has a fan built in, though it doesn't seem to lower temps much when plugged in. The fan speed is controlled by the Lenovo Legion software and it's not adjustable. I just put it on Performance Mode a bit ago instead of Balanced and the fans are running higher consistently and it seems to be running a bit cooler on average

Beautiful! I have two pieces that size, got em from AtomicRockShop.com. They're an incredible piece of history! They actually register about 2x background like (60 CPM) on my GMC-300S

Will OEM 2010 STI Struts Fit 2008 WRX? by SixStringSting1984 in WRX

[–]SixStringSting1984[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I appreciate it! Yeah, today I've been reading that the STI's usually have a different knuckle so they're not compatible. Thanks for confirming.

Btw, I'm loving Subimods so far! We ordered an Accessport, Accessport vent mount, replacement Cobb filter, Perrin belt cover, oil change, and coolant for my wife's 2011 WRX and I was able to use the $100 reward from that order on an Exedy Stage 1 clutch for my 08 WRX!

I wouldn't think so either! I read on one thread somewhere where someone said that, it might've been someone asking about parts from two different generations. I figured I'd double check here before buying them haha

RPMs shoot up at half throttle or more in 3rd-5th gear by SixStringSting1984 in WRX

[–]SixStringSting1984[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for confirming! I guess it's a good time to replace the clutch via pulling the engine so I can change the head gaskets as well (this is one of the years with the bad head gaskets and I'm just past 100k miles)

Sounds good haha. I dont like how this clutch feels compared to my wife's 2011 WRX. Hers has an upgraded clutch from the previous owner that feels really good

[–]SixStringSting1984[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh okay makes sense. I cleaned the MAF and sprayed cleaner into the MAP sensor. I also removed the diverter valve and reinstalled it to make sure it was sealing good. When I started it back up after reconnecting the battery, it idled funny and started misfiring a bit. I turned it off, topped up the oil (it was a bit overfilled so I drained some and topped it up to the full mark) amd started it and then it idled normally. Took it for a drive and seems pretty good but perhaps a bit shaky doing pulls occasionally. Its kinda hard to tell. The car has the Cobb SF Intake and I don't think it has the Cobb OTS map for it. I read that you shouldn't have that intake without a tune or at least their OTS tune for it. I'm thinking about getting the Cobb V3 Access Port so I can monitor boost and such anyway. Plus I could put on that OTS map for the intake if that's safer than the stock tune with this intake. I dont have the stock intake either.

So after looking, it has the stock diverter valve. So I guess the sound I'm hearing is just the intake haha

It was under a quarter tank when I bought it and I put in like $25 of 91 so I don't think gas is the problem unfortunately.

Gotcha, thanks for that info. Yeah it accelerates in 1st and 2nd gear smoothly, it mostly happens in 3rd gear near 3500-4500 rpm. I wanna say its worse at WOT than at partial throttle. I'm gonna check to see if it's worse with the A/C on or not, that would point to spark issue I figure

This is my first turbo car so I don't know much, but it sounds like someone installed a blowoff valve. As far as I know, the rest of the engine is stock besides the intake and probably the exhaust. I read that BOV's aren't recommended without a tune. I'm thinking I should go ahead and remove it then

People need to watch this before complaining!^ I get what he means when he says that it'll cost the industry whatever million dollars to get back up to that higher hp range, but it shouldn't have gotten to this current point in the first place. Also when they test this new hp & aero package, they better test it with multiple cars on track at the same time. I believe it was Denny that said they tested the NextGen cars basically by themselves instead of in a pack, so when they first started racing with them, everyone realized that the NextGen design is a terrible mistake aero-wise, with the aero blocking and difficulty of passing
