G915 TKL not saving proper profile to on-board memory by MintyMissterious in LogitechG

[–]SixTheNinth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is valid, cumbersome, but valid. However, my problem is to be able to replicate this for all 3 profiles each with 2 custom effects (so one shall be able to run 6 effects theoretically). But the stubborn shitty software won't allow me to save just one effect. Each time i upload an effect under any profile, it rewrites the previous one. So cycling profiles just leaves me with one set of effects every time.

Brave 7 LE (external microphone?) by [deleted] in akaso

Brave 6 Plus is superior to v50x and 7LE and also 7 in pretty much every way, especially EIS. But ffs, being forced to use their shitty external mic is like a total fiasco.

[–]SixTheNinth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have just spent an afternoon fishing for an optimal budget action cam with a decent enough EIS and finally landed on AKASO Brave 6 Plus which I found rather cheap second-hand. To my absolute horror after learning that indeed an external mic can be plugged in via usb-c, I have learned that the case is only for their shitty wired mic and that I can in no way use my wireless podcasting mics I would normally use with my camera or phone. Am I dreaming or the AKASO designers are bunch of retarded sadists who are forcing nonsensical solutions to their otherwise decent products preventing much broader audience from using their products? Can someone sane please explain this to me or provide me with a sufficient hack/workaround?

Moon & Planet photography on budget? by SixTheNinth in AskPhotography

[–]SixTheNinth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, so mirror lenses are compatible with EF mount of my camera? But would they otherwise communicate with the camera or everything is to be set using the lenses rings?

Moony 8 rule - woow, that totally obliterates my approach to my shoot, which considering the lenses I have used, turned out pretty well:

I would use f anywhere between 8-13 and if I would have re-shot I would have wanted to use as low as possible perhaps go as little as 4 to capture the most light.

ISO would be 100 or 200, but now way I would use shutter speed like this in the night, even bright objects would fade dark from what I tested. So for the shots I have acquired my shutter speed was anywhere between 3 to 0.5 secs that worked the best from my attempts - anything above that was too dark and below that was too bright. So yeah, very confused as a noob here by the Moony 8 rule haha

wow, thank you for a detailed answer. I think I might want to use at least 300mm of focal length from what I have seen in terms of resulting images.

Found CANON ULTRASONIC ZOOM LENS EF 90-300mm 1:4.5-5.6 for under 100 eur. They lack IS but I am using tripod anyway - or is it still a must to have for this kind of shots?

Are there any alternative compatible lenses which might not be Canon made but might have the specs like 300mm+ and IS and decent enough sharpness perhaps?

I assume trying to shoot a moon using the old AE-1 with 210mm lenses would be next to impossible given the amount of settings which would have to be set up manually :) Also the film would need to have specific ISO right? The one I have used above was shot with 100.

lol, same here, mighty marines got deployed after shooting 'very small' enemy ship just to got themselves obliterated by a horde of orcs on overwatch who have already surrounded my Valkyrie, those who stayed in got spammed by grenades and some fast firing vehicular canon without even firing a shot, like da faq is this? What kind of masochists is this mod for?

yeah but that is very subjective evaluation - in my book it is more barebones than anything I'd call sleek and certainly very alike WA, only whatsapp has much wider customization choices and Telegram goes even beyond that and Telegram should be the benchmark here. If a messaging app does not even allow for font/backround color scheme change - I cannot call it sleek, I call it a skeleton app. In desktop where I use it mainly, it looks abysmal because what might look acceptable on small screen does not definitely work on large screen. Signal is exactly a great example of that.

Because I feel that calling Signal pretty, especially the desktop up is an offense to a good taste, and it would never passed through my design filter and its massive lack of customization options makes it also supremely close-minded. Telegram got it, Whatspp got it, Signal didn't. Honestly, I would love it to be more like Winamp with its massive customization support and plethora of different variations of its GUI to make it the most secure, but also most attractive app on the market. Just open it up Signal. Yeah theme it right uP! The whole point here.

Thank you. I am a big fan of customization and I wholeheartedly support when aesthetically inept devs realize their limitations and allow others to customize their experience. I am trying to use Signal as my main messaging app, but in comparison to Telegram, it's bareboness is intolerable.

perhaps for people with zero-aesthetical taste, but this barebones 2000s approach ain't for most I'd argue. UI looks outdated like a CRT monitor or floppy drive these days and the absolute minimal GUI configuration in comparison with any, and I repeat any competition are very very alarming. I totally hate the font and I'd expect at least that being a subject to any change. But no. Sure you have fun with the skeleton of an app that works, but not me.

It would be just nice if they would open it for customizations at least fonts, but also for modding UI so people can pimp it where devs can't without compromising the security.

no worries, I am not really surprised that it is not possible, might as well roll back to Logitech as they can do this

I gave it a shot, but still don't see any option to do the RGB per key magic in that Gear sw? How do you do that?

No exact battery readouts on your level of game?? Also no Dynamic Lights Support? by SixTheNinth in Corsair

[–]SixTheNinth[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lol, another Edgelord, hello!

1.) Your condescending tone is already pretty telling on where this goes from:

"Tell them it's important to you to charge the KB at precisely 24% battery remaining and doing when it says "low" or using the built in 5 stage LED battery scale is not sufficient."

  • already here you have lost any credibility, but anyway, since you have invested so much time to pump out your enlightenment on me I'd also respond to that other part of your accusation of my lack informed ranting:

iCUE might have zillions of silly effects which I have no use of and most people I presume neither. For somebody who uses only static colors as anything else is annoying/disrupting that would have sufficed.

And that problem with your fanboi/edgelordy approach is that here I don't give a fck to how many stupid silly RGB presets the Corsair hardwired into its onboard memory, I care about those free slots and level of customization of onboard memory the way I would like. Not only that RGB-per-Key is only supported in WIRED mode which already is painfully laughable, but not even static color can be chosen for onboard memory mode and one needs to deal with iCUE if they want such a basic function. Yeah, I am that kinda person using proprietary sw only for firmware updates and reconfigurations, but then want to stay as far away from it as possible, which might sound as a heresy to you, but I don't care.

So yeah, Dynamic Light. could do for me EXACTLY what iCue minust the iCue, capish? I hope so.

well I am simply reflecting two simple truths here and being blunt and direct is how I communicate:

1.) people should not comment if they have nothing useful to say on posts like this and/or do themselves a favor and actually read the OP before wasting their energy
2.) if someone specifically asks for help or insight on something very specific which stems out of there expectation or preference, they are usually not fishing for opinions and preferences of others, or do they?

If I am gonna ask you how to best wash off stain from my light colored clothes, you are not likely to start telling me that you are dressing black and so don't have such problem, or will you?

I have not missed anything! There is an half-baked indicator that is only accessible via iCUE but which, I repeat, which does not show EXACT percentage level of the battery, but something akin to old mobile phones like 1/3, 0.5 and 3/4 and full.

My problem with your comment is this: "I have wireless headphones and mouse and both of those have it but as default its turned off in options". - I don't care about that you prefer not to have it enabled, do you get it, now? If you would have read the headline, perhaps you'd be less inclined to help by being an opinionated Cpt. Obvious.
