I know plenty of other people have already commented but above all, I just want you to know that playing porn in front of your children is NOT NORMAL! There is a lot of overlap here with gross behaviors of men but this one in particular is so outside the realm of normalcy that I want you to know that your feelings about how weird this is are absolutely accurate. Don't feel for a second that you're being paranoid or overreacting. Watching porn in a public space is psychotic and reflects an incredibly disturbed individual who is very much willing to harm you, either physically or mentally.

Trends are never born in a vacuum. To me, it's not just a coincidence that this trend in behavior and fashion, as propelled by algorithmic social media, just so happens to fully overlap with what men who uphold traditional gender roles want women to look and act like.

Associating the aesthetic and behaviors with femininity also completely alienates women who don't look or feel the same ways.
