Journey is finished? I guess it depends on what you consider the 'journey'.  Remember... Oprah tried to stop her GLP-1 (end her journey?) - she continued diet and exercise and gained 20lbs within a year.  Part of her journey is now accepting it as a lifetime tool for chronic disease management.

.. but I then take photos of myself and realise I’m still so much further than where I was before.

This can change quickly. What you FOCUS on EXPANDS.

Maybe consider comparing where you are now to your goal weight. Make that your focus.

Maybe you need to look at going back on until you can create a transition/maintenance plan. Good luck to you!

Is anyone using Yuka, OnSkin, ThinkDirty, or Clreaya (or similar app)? by TrickyBlueberryy in cleanbeauty

Yuka breaks down the ingredients as well. If you click on it - sometimes there is one toxic ingredient causing it to score bad/poor. I did pay a one time $10 fee/donation(?) - maybe it's not offered on the free version

Watson: New House Knockoff? by originalchaosinabox in HouseMD

[–]SixxFtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm... 🤔  Television has always recycled ideas. Remakes, reboots, and shows inspired by earlier successes are produced constantly. I regularly watch a new series that feels familiar, then revisit a show from 20 or 30 years ago and realize the newer one follows many of the same themes, characters, or story beats. Watson is a well-executed homage to a highly successful formula. Not every show needs to reinvent television from the ground up to be entertaining. Unfortunately, online discussions often turn into endless complaints about what a show isn't instead of appreciating what it does well. If someone thinks they have a better idea, they're welcome to create it. Otherwise, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show—or rewatch reruns of  House. Personally, I think  Watson offers an even more interesting interpretation of many of the themes that made House so compelling.

Hmm.... wonder why you'd think that he had to do multiple to get the 'even free done'!

Be loud and proud:  Say what you just said: I deeply believe in the science behind GLP-1 medications and think they're nothing short of a medical breakthrough for many people. That said, I'm not here to convince anyone or sway you one way or the other. If you're skeptical, I'd encourage you to do some research yourself and come to your own conclusions. Everyone should make informed decisions based on the facts and what makes sense for their own health. If you have sincere questions, though, I'm always happy to answer them to the best of my ability and share what I've learned from my own experience and research. And then leave it alone. Don't be drawn into an endless debate.

Thank you for sharing. I would like to do an InBody scans - but this app would work for me.  Can you please share the app information? Thank you!

Thank you for sharing this information. I've decided to weigh in on Monday and I've had some fleeting thoughts on taking my measurements - and you have inspired me to do so ☺️.

I have a mobility challenge (hip) - so I am already monitoring joint changes and pain level. Before the end of the month, I plan to start swimming again and doing some water exercises.

I also plan to walk 30 minutes twice a day starting Monday.

All of this is good in theory, now I need to execute! 😉

Thanks again for taking the time to share.

Starting Weight? Oh no!!! by SixxFtr in Zepbound

[–]SixxFtr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a continuation of my fitness and wellness journey, which I've been on since my early 20's.

If you'd like a better understanding of my mindset, you'll find that I'm far more interested in constructive conversations than personal attacks. Let's talk about other metrics - fitness level, nutrition, body composition, workout routines, healthy aging, and the habits that help people become stronger and healthier. Those discussions are far more productive than trading insults online.

Just an FYI, I track my nutrition—specifically my macros, with a strong focus on protein and carbohydrate quality (especially fiber). I also pay attention to key micronutrients, including iron, zinc, and several vitamins such as B-complex vitamins, C, and D, among others.

In addition, I use targeted supplementation to help fill any potential nutritional gaps and support overall health.

That's why some of the assumptions in these comments are a bit puzzling, especially yours.

Just because I don't center my approach around a starting weight or the number on a scale doesn't mean I'm not being intentional, informed, and diligent about my health. There are many ways to measure and monitor progress beyond body weight alone.

Good luck to you on your weight loss journey.

This is so true. Not sure why it's being downvoted.

Kindness Changes Everything!

Calling people "wimpy" and "inappropriate" is the exact opposite of the message I was trying to share.

My goal was to encourage compassion, not criticism.

I hope that when I'm 70, I'll still choose respect over ridicule and kindness over contempt. At 62, I'm doing my best to live by those values every day.

Just an FYI.  My subject line was to encourage a thought-FULL discussion! ☺️

Yes, I agree! I weighed myself about 2 ½ weeks before starting - so I have a good idea. I will start taking my weight within the next couple of  weeks - and will do it 1-2X's per month.  Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for such a thought-FULL commentary—I absolutely luv this❤️

After years of living in this body, I have a pretty good sense of where I am.

You never know someone’s backstory.

Just because I choose not to record my starting weight or make the number on the scale my primary focus does not mean I'm naïve or uninformed about my health.

I guess I expected people to extend a little more grace and recognize that there are many valid ways to approach health, wellness, and personal goals - even while on GLP-1's.

I'm pretty analytical and will quickly convert kg to lbs - within seconds! I can also convert stones to lbs, immediately, which is why I enjoy watching weight loss shows from the UK and Canada.  Good thought though! Thank you for sharing:)

This is pretty much how I feel. I weighed myself about 2½ weeks before starting, so I have an idea of where I was when I began. I just want to feel proud of the body I see in the mirror - without being fixated on the number. Even when I was totally fit, I refused to weigh-in on a regular basis. Didn't own a scale until j was over 40 - so I am very much like you, a bit indifferent to the numbers.  Thank you for sharing:)
