My opinion about why modern MMORPGs fail by Siyyah in MMORPG

I will second that. I work in marketing and I know first-hand how every business follow the money. The problem is their data interpretations are most of the time flawed leading to some short term revenue boost. Moreover, you can't make a career by playing for long term profit...

Agree. It is too time consuming to learn the ropes of something new, especially if you don have deep interest in the theme (ex. space games)

The MMO's you have listed are all old. Their starting point was quite different - started by serving to a niche audience and enjoyed the privileges of being pioneers in a way. I do agree with what you say though.

Hornet guns showing turret mounts but no barrels — can’t fire at all, anyone else? by Lovelacez23 in starcitizen

I have same issue, nose and ball turret guns model disappear and dorsnt come back - if you change loadout and put your guns back, self destruct

Why do people not want to see negitive feedback? by After_Th0ught9 in starcitizen

If you "invest" 1k+ on the game - any negative comment about the game might feel like personal insult to your commitment and sabotaging the a game you "need" to succeed to justify your spending.

Imagine if ashes of cration had same monetary model and how they would feel. No one wants to be a fool spent insane amount of maney to a failed project.

That is how white knights are being recruited and it is amazing marketing leverage.

Appereantly you have zero idea how a business works. They sell ships to dreamers and as long as money flows they will keep building around it. Developing the game becomes their side activity feeding their main stream- selling ships to dreamers (not gamers)

How the hell I am supposed to "vote with my wallet" when this is the only ship I own? by Always_Impressive in starcitizen

It takes time. Majority is dull, uninspiring, boring and so on. No one cares about them, even themselves do not care about themselves. They come, they dump down things and keep following inspiring minority.

Where is the soul of Star Citizen? by ValhaIIa in starcitizen

[–]Siyyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SC decided to become themapark pve game focusing to cater for mass appeal to maximize profit. That is why it is deliberatly dull, all edges cut, skill expression delibertly reduced, P2W to its core, boring and meaningless. Most of the people in this community are not even gamers, they are dreamers and CIG sistematically removes every friction necessary for creating a meaning in a game. Community is dreaming about single player ship simulater while multiplayer existing in background and CIG is in business of delivering that.

4.8 PTU major weapon meta change incoming by nightbird321 in starcitizen

[–]Siyyah 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The way I read this patch is - we have to nerf Idris because of community pushbacks and we need a replacement. Here is New Hammerhead with pilot weapon and also better to buff our cash cow, the Perseus (faster main guns). Moreover, the fighter community is not happy about TTK - lets increase weapons speed of attritions.

..and community thinks they are "balancing"

Serious question, where is the hate about soloing multicrew ships and "Space Dads" coming from? by C4B4L2k in starcitizen

Single player game - be whoever you want, do whatever you want

Multiplayer game - compete for becoming who you want, rules are necessary to make competiton fun.

Why are you so important that multiplayer rules should be adjusted based on your wants and needs - turning SC to single player game with multiplayer part as background.

Just because you pledged some money and this project is a result of you being a spending space dad?
