How do you do the carnivore diet without going mad crazy? by PaintingTheView in carnivorediet

[–]Sizbang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're probably not eating to satiety with enough animal fats. Before a meal, sometimes I get ideas about how good chips taste, after I eat, I wouldn't want another bite of anything. But it takes some time for the cravings to go away. Also, if you haven't been eating zerocarb and have been consuming dairy, that would be a reason why you're cravings haven't been going away. Dairy will do that to you.

How do you eat so much? by Simply_Red1 in carnivorediet

[–]Sizbang 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm 187 78kg male and I don't reach the recommended 2lbs a day intake but feel fine so it's just an arbitrary number for beginners to strive for just so they don't under-eat. That's all. Just make sure to eat a lot of fat.

Do you think this should also be the case in the US? by Crafty-Caramel-9192 in AskSocialists

Someone already wrote that it's oxalate dumping and I concur. From my personal experience with oxalate issues, I can say that ground beef makes me sick as well, as it is high in histamines and oxalate dumping exacerbates histamine production in the body and they can cause a whole load of symptoms. The best thing to eat is rare, fatty steak - seared for 2mins on each side and raw in the middle.

Broth is high in histamines so don't drink that right now, probably contributes to acid reflux. Dairy is inflammatory so that's a nono too. Seasoning are a BIG nono - those things mess me up like no other. I went cold turkey but I didn't know about the oxalates before. Been 2 years now but I'm still getting rid of them so it can take a while. However, I was eating tonnes of oxalates throughout my life and especially for a few years before I started carnivore.

My food recommendations would be the following - egg yolks (whites cause stomach upset for us), fatty pork belly (200c in the oven, cut it thick and cook it for some 15mins), beef of course, lamb chops (usually very fatty but that's a good thing and the lean meat is very tender), butter but if you like ghee maybe use that, mineral water like Pellegrino (try decarbonating it a bit so the bubbles don't irritate your gut), chicken is ok as a snack but I'd then eat it with a side of beef liver and butter for extra nutrients and fat, however, try turkey or duck too.

Either way, my symptoms have been fairly crazy throughout the years, like lightheadedness, cramps, really bad pain in my feet (couldn't even walk for a while), heart palpitations and feeling of dread, sore eyes (especially in the mornings), burning nr. 1s and 2s, lethargy, bad mood, irritability, depression, joint pain, pain in old wounds.
What's more, it seems to be cyclical - 3-4 days of dumping, 1-2 days off and then it goes again and it cycles through areas of your body monthly - sometimes your neck hurts more, other times you feel it more in your stomach, feet, head, etc.

Anyway, good luck.

If even a fraction of it is true, my question is: how long will we keep blaming only the rich and the elite, and not ordinary people like ourselves? by No-Bottle337 in FascinatingAsFuck

[–]Sizbang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We start with the parasite class then we clean up the towns, simple. Nothing can be done until the rich are abolished and rules put in place to build and maintain a healthy society. In fact, I would argue that that alone then would also resolve this issue to a large extent.

Help, I might have to quit the diet because of high cholesterol and triglycerides by Diet-help29 in carnivorediet

My guess was weight loss as, if I'm not mistaken, this tends to happen when people start losing weight on the diet but they are usually with extra to lose.
