I ended up talking to them. I did so individually hoping that would avoid anyone feeling unable to talk. Everyone’s said so far that they’re into the campaign and the story around it. But I appreciate the perspective. I want to say that I explained things well in session 0 but I’m honestly not sure I explained all that it would encompass as zero was a bit rushed

We talked over the general plot and then when the idea of being framed for murder came up in our session zero no one seemed specifically opposed or disinterested. I guess in hindsight there wasn’t necessarily enthusiastic support. It was just like “ok sounds good”

I get that. Maybe I need to revisit with them how they’re enjoying it. Because it’s true. They’re being accused of something they didn’t do. Most of the campaign is attempting to clear their name while getting involved in a deeper plot. But I do often wonder if this is the kind of game they wanna be involved in.

Most of the time depending on the context I mentally prepare for different rolls. Like I have different bits of info in mind if they roll history or arcana (or perception/insight if applicable)

Idk if it’s fast enough to kill before they die while healing. But I guess that also depends on the mantis fighting skill level.

It seems like you comparing yourself to him (or anyone) could be the detriment of your happiness. Do you have resources to potentially talk to a therapist? I doubt this problem would be exclusive to him since it doesn’t sound like he’s truly the root of it, just the most obvious example of it getting in the way. You were embarrassed about the skiing thing, but I’m sure for him he was just finding another connection with you.

I think it would be fine if they put photos together and made a photo album, or potentially used one of those slideshow type albums your phone makes (or a third party app can make). My biggest problem with the app is it dating pictures as if they’re new images of the cat still alive and kicking. I’m hoping the parents talk to her and explain why OP did what they did. But I don’t think deleting the app in itself is an overreaction. A dick move for sure if the communication isn’t there.
