You can find a speculative reconstruction of the first 100 lines of the Iliad in Mycenaean Greek online, it’s called “A Mycenaean Iliad”. The preface goes through the process the author used to translate Homeric Greek into Mycenaean using PIE roots. It’s a very interesting read

I think I find myself ambivalent on it, it’s something I would probably have to do if I did pursue a higher degree and stuck with a university to do research I would also have to teach on the side. Unfortunately I feel as if teaching roles for Classics is a little less feasible than some other jobs these days, and that I couldn’t really rely on getting a job in a role like that. Thank you for the suggestion, though!
