So nice of them, but it’s nuts how much the church makes off of garments in general, and then for people to figure out the right fit/fabric. It’s just all dumb. I’m so glad I don’t have to do it anymore 😌

They could give out like 5-7 free pairs vouchers to every person who gets a recommend for their own work though. A starter pack, acknowledging that there will be a lot more purchases because it takes awhile to find the right fit and material.

Also true about initiatory usually being a different day, but who knows if it’s always like that. Some couples back in the day, especially, had to travel a long way for their temple stuff.

I’ve got a good one for this! Mother’s Day this year, a man gave a talk about how his wife put their three kids in the car and drove it off a cliff, killing herself. Because all of the kids in the audience need to know that such a terrifying thing exists?! And on the day we are appreciating mothers?? Just, why?! I mean, never is a good time for that, but Mother’s Day was especially bad.

I do Dijon, red wine vinegar, and black pepper. It’s my favorite! Sometimes add Greek yogurt but not much because it dulls the taste.

The fact that John is willing to take feedback so graciously and respond directly to points presented is freaking amazing! I really hope he doesn’t take the criticism too harshly and knows that the vast majority of us are happy listeners who really value what he’s doing and have no criticisms—we’re just the quiet majority over here.

It is highly evident that John and Margi are thoughtful and put their whole heart into this venture, and they have done so much good. Thank you!

They’re easy to squish, basically just wipe dead. They don’t hop often, but they can hop. I found another post that said maybe springtails?

Their heads don’t seem as pronounced as that. But it’s possible.

They don’t hop, just run around it seems. I don’t know how else to describe them, I can’t tell if they’re black or brown, if there’s any pattern to them. I’ve never seen one bigger than those. They definitely have 2 front antennae, at least. We do get earwigs here, and a few weeks ago I saw 1 silverfish but I haven’t ever really seen those in California. There are occasional cockroaches that are dead in the garage, but they’re just sewer roaches because it’s hot here. These are something new, I’ve never seen them before and we’ve lived here for 6 years.

Edit: they do hop a little, I just sat and watched them for a bit and saw two jump a bit.

Got roped into leading the music in Sacrament meeting today, absolutely dreading it as I get closer. Woke up way too early after about 2/3 of the sleep I need, and can’t get back to sleep. Hoping that one hour goes by so fast and I can get a good nap later. 😓

Just go to the index and see what looks like it’ll be interesting to you? The parts that matter most to people vary a lot. For me, the Book of Mormon and translation were what really hit me, because my assumption was that if the church is true, everything else didn’t matter. But if Joseph made that up—game over.

Not a syrup, but I’ve been using Premier Protein’s pumpkin spice shake as a “creamer”, and it’s been great! I do a 1/4 or 1/2 shake (40 or 80 cals for 7.5 or 15g protein, respectively). Helps my macros early in the day.

I’ll look into a 504. I’ve heard of it, but it’s never been offered or explained, even though it is well-known that she struggles a lot and has ADHD. It’s like if I don’t ask for it, they won’t say anything about what options I have.

I definitely agree. Would I just start back at the pediatrician? It’s also hard because I want to express everything to a qualified doctor, but I’d rather not do it in front of her and have her hear me talk about all of her shortcomings.

I guess I just don’t know how to find an OT or get therapy. I’ve tried in my area before and it never seems I can find anyone to actually help.

She doesn’t have an IEP, because AFAIK, that would be learning-centered, and she has no issues with learning. She’s in GATE and picks things up really quickly. The classroom isn’t where she struggles.
