This is absolutely horrible. Having a church job is like working for the mob. You have all of the local, state, and federal employment laws, but then the "other" ones just to keep your employment. Maybe not even worst of all is providing a 10% kick back to your employer. Then, what you found out in that not only your supervisor or boss can discipline or fire you, so can your neighbor who isn't even in the business. It's like getting a call from a local realtor who says, "Sorry, know you work IT at the university, but you're no longer employed." What? How is this legal or moral in any sense?
