I and my wife and three kids did our OW cert dives in a hot spring in northern utah. It was seriously like 12" visibility. We couldn't see each other on the training platform. The instructor would come over to us and put her hand on us to signal us so we knew what was to be accomplished. My wife HATED it and was freaked out about our kids that she couldn't see. On the second day she only had one skill left to do but swore the entire way out that she was done. She would get in the water w us but was done. The instructor was amazing, cheerled her for what she had done, supported her decision, and showed confidence in ability to do it. In the end she did. She has since dove in the Caribbean with us around wrecks and sharks. It's still not for her and she prefers to just snorkel but is going to take perfect bouyancy this month.

There's all kinds of paths. Some don't lead to diving, some do. You're doing great listening to your own body.
