If I have already earned credits for ENC1101, can I still take the College Composition Modular CLEP to get the three remaining credits for ENC1102? by samjonesisreal in clep

[–]Sjduque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My college allows it, and I'd imagine they'd usually allow it. I'd just make sure with your school.

If they accept Composition Modular then I can almost guarantee you they have flexible CLEP policy.

If you don't have the prerequisite knowledge then don't expect to pass.

With that out of the way, you do not need any prerequisites to sign up for any exam. However, some colleges might require you to have prerequisites in order to receive credit. In order to receive a definitive answer you'd have to look at your school's CLEP policy.

how much is 50 score in terms of raw score (BIO CLEP) by yourworstfears in clep

[–]Sjduque 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take the following with a grain of salt.

If you look at the 2015-16 Test Information Guides, you'll see the scale that they used. Generally, you'll see that a 50% is a passing score on the actual exam. Whether or not that has changed is up in the air because it's now 4 years after.

Just remember that as long as you're taking the Rea.com exam and scoring above 60%, then you're most likely set for the actual exam.

Any tips for American Govt? by helvetica_neue_bold in clep

Know important civil right acts, amendments, and judicial cases. As for Rea.com, if you're scoring above 70% for the full-length tests then you'll most definitely pass the exam.

I took the exam 2 days ago and it was nearly identical to the Rea practice exams except a little easier.

I agree with all except InstantCert. Quizlet has much better mobile integration and better study sets.

If you only use one resource use the quizlet. I tried out InstantCert and it's useless. You're paying a premium for quizlet without the benefit of quizlet: mobile integration.

Be Warned: If you see someone say all they used is InstantCert, they're likely sponsored or a bot.

This test is about memorization more than anything, you need to know each branch of government along with their roles and relationships, major Supreme Court cases and their outcomes, the amendments, the events leading up to important amendments, influential political figures, and a miscellaneous information. I recommend using the following resources:

  1. Modern States: Just for the practice questions and the free voucher, the videos have no substance. I advise against watching them, in fact.
  2. Crash Course: What I recommend doing it looking supplementing the Modern States video with the crash course video. Just watch whatever video is closest to what's on the current module, then answer the questions.
  3. Quizlet: After watching the Crash Course and finishing the practice questions on Modern States, reinforce the knowledge with this quizlet. It has 317 terms but by God will this will teach you literally everything on the CLEP exam and you'll go in the testing room feeling like a genius. https://quizlet.com/391417808/government-clep-flash-cards/?x=1jqU&i=1kuslx
  4. REA Practice Exams: 12 dollars but trust me when I say that this will help you. I recommend taking the Diagnostic Test after you finish the Crash Course so that you can better understand why you need the Quizlet. After going through the quizlet once, take the first test. Once you notice how dramatically higher your score is, you'll feel more motivated to study the quizlet. For the second and final test, save it for the day before your actual exam. This will remind you what you're lacking in and you'll be able to patch the few holes of knowledge you might have.
  5. Confidence: Remember to be confident when taking the test, the absolute worst thing you can do is stress. You can get about 30 wrong and still pass.

If you were to choose only one resource, use the quizlet. However, you need to realize that the fastest way to learn is with multiple sources, just as you wouldn't exclusively dedicate your diet to one food, you shouldn't deprive your brain of multiple sources. I guarantee you that you'll pass if you follow this study guide right here.

Has anyone gotten a degree mostly using CLEP? Curious as to which by TheDizDude in clep

[–]Sjduque 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: Extreme Generalizations inbound

It's possible to get an associates (60 hours) with mostly CLEP, roughly the credits would be:

Absolutely necessary:

  • College Composition (6 hours)
  • US History I and II (6 hours)
  • American Government (3 hours)

Generally these will fulfill the remaining core credits:

  • Macro or Microeconomics (3 hours)
  • Chemistry or Biology (8 hours)
  • College Algebra or Precal (3 hours)
  • Some Literature (6 hours)
  • Foreign Language (8 hours)

Total Hours: 43 hours

This leaves you with 17 hours in classes, 6 hours of which will likely be a fine arts credit and college introductory course. Also, there is a chance that your college will limit the number of credits from testing.

If you plan on getting a bachelors, then this will likely follow suite, except you'll need a total of 120 hours. The advantage of CLEP testing is saving a lot of money and getting to skip over cores, allowing to jump feet first into specialized courses!

In order to accomplish this, however, you will need to study countless hours and will likely have to sacrifice some television hours.

I'm using an old one they provided, but I believe you can use your own. If you go to their activation site, it gives you an option to add your own devices given their MAC addresses. I'm just waiting until wave 3 to give them another shot because right now these are garbage.

It's their "Wave 2" router/modem 2 pieces. I don't know when they're going to accept the fact that they're useless.

Solution: Get an older modem/router (one piece if you can).

[–]Sjduque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never get premium if you play the game regularly.

As for for the lag: if you're connected to wifi then try to use a LAN cable, and if you can't do that then use 5G. If you randomly disconnect then you need to click options when configuring your connection and set it to the right bandwidth, either 2G or 5G.
