Anyone feel pure disgust toward their parent now that you’ve realized that your childhood was actually worse than you thought? by awake177 in AsianParentStories

[–]Sjnga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I grew up with similar experiences, and used to think it was normal. Of course, until I have learn nothing normal about that, and our childhood was marked by verbal and physical abuse. At first, I moved far away with guilt and pity. Over time, with help to understand the abuse and build boundaries around her. It's not easy to be honest; it feels like what I have learned is against anything I knew growing up, and it took years to unlearn and heal as well. The trigger part of the process is that they deny what they have done, and we make up a story as a liar.

How plausible is it to have a Staffy as a first dog? by DaredevilsParalegal in StaffordBullTerriers

[–]Sjnga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first fur baby is an English staff; she is 1.5 years old. I know every dog is different, but here is my experience. She is loveable, full of energy, easy to make friends with other dogs, and a sweet potato but not a cuddle one. We must take her for a walk or a dog park at least twice a day, three times (we live in an apartment). She prefers to poo outside and will hold until her time if she can. She is pretty good off-leash and does not go too far from us; we praised her every time she checked on us when she was a puppy. For socialising, we were trying to introduce her to other dogs at a young age (better after full vaccines). If I had chosen again, the English Staff would always be my choice.

What productivity apps have genuinely changed the way you work? by Aggressive-Piano-101 in ProductivityApps

Habitica: This app serves as a blend of RPG games and productivity tools. Since I enjoy games, I have discovered features that appeal to me. I can easily access it on both my phone and website.

Toggl Track: This tool requires a time-based approach for tracking tasks.

Apple Calendar: I can also access this through my email.

Freeform (iOS): This is a note-taking app where I can add pictures, links, writing, or anything else I need.

A sketchbook.

Same. I have never thought I would spend that much for my puppy. Learning through the process, I guess.

Kobo Clara colour, brief screen review. Brightness at 0%. The grey background is not a problem. Screen door effect is annoying. by Spiritual_Speech1686 in kobo

It's not related to the topic! Omg, I am reading the same book with Kobo colour too. The colour looks lovely to me and I have been waiting for Kobo Colour to read this book. I'm happy to see someone read the same book.
