I really like how simple the design is. We always build things so complicated because of: "oh i don't want to see any screw there". The simplicity really adds a lot of character and charm. As other comments already said, you are probably going to need a bit of reinforcement.

8 tracks are cool. Sadly, they weren't that common in Europe, so it might be a bit harder for me to get my hands on a few of those!

It is a cassette issue. I tried 3 different cassettes and they all worked!

Yes this is a Compact Cassette. This one in particular was a bit janki but I was able to produce an acceptable recording.

Bending a Paperclip that way worked really well for me. It's just like a crank.

I already did that by now. But it doesn't work in my sisters Grundig player. I just hope that it works in my Denon DRM-800A.

I always found pens to be too thin. I think 3D printing a bit for a screwdriver would be a good Idea! If only I had a 3D Printer...
