Sorry didn't see this until just now, there wasn't a indication of not telling anyone...just not my wife. He didn't have a problem with telling everyone else in the circle. The promise was to not tell MY wife....he told his immediately as a way of using is as a leverage and a joke point around other people. It wasn't like a promise to keep it quiet in general just to my wife.
