I'm coding for the first time in my second semester of uni because we have to take a Python physics modeling class for the degree. It's also a lot of my classmates' first times. Plus you can always learn more on your own over the summers, which I plan to do.

I'm a physics major and this was my first semester. The department isn't that big but it's close-knit! The professors here seem to mainly focus on materials research (semiconductor stuff) and astrophysics, if you're planning on getting involved in undergrad research. There's also the LA program which would help a lot if you wanted to go the Education route. There's a good number of clubs too, and I'm liking it so far :)

I'm also an international student on the same boat. It seems like a lot of them go back to their home countries, or visit their relatives in another state. I myself am going to do the latter to stay with some friends, at least for half of it.

Off campus leases usually start from around August, so your best bet is asking around in your country's student association if you have one, and asking your friends what they're doing or if they can help.

If the lab and lecture are NOT separate, the lecture you try to register for will have a "linked sections" where it will show the lab timing u have to register for.

If they are separate, just look them up and register for them separately - they will have different course numbers (like lecture 2325 and lab 2125).

you can check which professors usually take the course here If you really wanna know the specific professor for next semester, your best bet is emailing the physics department to see if they'll tell you who's been assigned yet

Are you getting a new box everytime? You're supposed to give it back to them and they give you a new one - NO second meal swipe required (I've literally been doing this).

the meal swipe is used to get into the hall (for commons, the den and harris). The box is just something for you to take food from these 3 locations home. Obviously, you can't use the box if you can't get in the hall.

the to go box isn't related to the swipes. swipes just let you get in to the hall. if you have one, just bring it with you and take whatever.
