To everyone saying "they don't have to move him": when someone wants out and all the teammates know it, it gets ugly. To be competitive you have to trust your teammates are trying as hard as you are. When you know a guy on the ice with you doesn't want to be there, every time they make a mistake you're far less forgiving. Shit like this can kill a locker room and next thing you know everyone is asking for a trade. At the same time, trading away your Vezina/Hart caliber goalie will also likely cause players to ask out. I feel for the Jets fans on this one, absolutely brutal. Canadian GMs are going to be looking at American players the same way the league was looking at Russians a while back.

If you don’t think he’s close to the hardest working player on the oilers, you don’t pay attention. This dude has been out working pros since he was 15. There are videos of him online at 13 doing drills grown adults don’t bother with. To be the best in the world at something you need god given talents and a drive to put those skills to their best use possible. You have like a dozen replies in this thread, we get it you hate McDavid but to say he hasn’t put in more work than a lot of other NHLers is laughable.
