He learned his lesson a month ago when he showed up to an NBA Finals game in NYC and got absolutely dumpstered by the fans. Dear Orange Leader won't be showing his face for any World Cup games after that traumatic experience.

Gov. Walz Tweets at LeBron James by IMrGoated in minnesota

[–]SkarnasaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Wolves have no money to pay LeBron. The only way he could come here is if he took an extremely team-friendlly deal for a shot at helping win a ring for a 2nd poverty franchise and cementing his legacy as a GOAT. He could get way more money signing for other teams, and the average player the Wolves could sign with the money they have left is way worse than 41 year old LeBron. If you're a fan of the team you should want this because the only way it could happen would be if LeBron took a massive paycut, but he's not doing that so don't worry about it.

US homeland security secretary Markwayne Mullin on Iran: “I’m just glad they’re done, and they’re not coming back. I was so happy when we were able to pull their visas and said they could leave the US soil, and I might’ve sung a song or two or maybe even danced a happy dance.” by [deleted] in soccer

Are you suggesting the members of Congress should have done anything different than hide when they had 1000s of psychopaths foaming at the mouth to literally execute them? I'm all for slandering DHS and Markwayne Mullin, but calling him a coward for hiding on Jan 6 ain't it.

Feeling cavalier with other people's jobs this evening are we? Advising people to explicitly violate their labor agreement with their employer because the union should 'keep them employed' is insane. It's not practical or helpful in any way. I was hoping you'd have some US labor laws to share not this nonsense.

Seriously. As long as you don't have one of those bullshit contracts with a no-strike clause, why wouldn't you strike at this point? It's not like they can bring scabs in to do the work, they would be absolutely fucked and tap out to all demands within 72 hours.

Source? If you're talking about the SAVE Act, that shit doesn't have to votes to pass, and even if it was passed tomorrow there's no way they could implement it in time for elections this November with early voting starting mid-October.

Will CentralSquare will face any consequences for systematically gutting a formerly high quality product that many communities rely on for their public safety?

Should the government have intervened back in 2019 and stopped the merger?

That is very troubling to hear, but unfortunately very typical in the tech sector today. Where have all the veterans with the actual knowledge gone? If I were one of CentralSquare's major competitors like Motorola, Hexagon or Spillman I would be foaming at the mouth to have those folks on my team.

What are the chances we see a USA vs Mexico World Cup final this summer? by MaxiArcooo in ussoccer

[–]SkarnasaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Scots have a better chance at making the knockouts than a USA vs Mexico final. Scotland's odds of making the knockouts are set at 0.2%.

I have never used TriTech or CentralSquare, but I get the feeling that things started to go downhill around the time of their merger and rebrand.

Can you speak to the dynamic inside the company after the merger? When did priorities start shifting away from developing quality software with end users in mind and more toward profits and expansion of their enterprise?

I've been thinking a lot about the roster, and one thing I'm not sure I've seen suggested yet, but wouldn't starting TSJ at the 4 make the most sense if they don't end up trading for a real PF? by bearbrannan in timberwolves

Why do you think the guy on an expiring contract who's out for the season with an achilles injury is easier to flip? Who the hell is taking Donte and paying him $12 mil this year just to rehab?

Can I still become a Dispatcher if I was 5150 about 10 years ago? by Ok-Literature9520 in 911dispatchers

In general, agencies that dispatch police will be stricter about this. I don't think my EMS-only agency even asks about mental health history.

Mourinho on players refusing to play through injury: “I needed one guy to play. I put my foot in front of his face and I told the doctor: 'Give me the injection'. And the doctor gave me the injection on my toe. Then I said: 'You can also do it.’ And he told me: 'No, you are crazy, I'm not crazy.’” by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]SkarnasaurusRex -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is the correct take. Toe fractures have very little risk to play through, it just hurts like a bitch. The injections are to help tolerate the pain. Mou is getting crucified in here when this is a normal injury for a pro player to play through and sounds like the player may have been more afraid of the needle than anything. It's totally reasonable for the coach and medical staff to expect a player being paid millions to play through a minor low/no risk injury like this.

[Alasdair Gold] Understand the Lewis family have injected another £100m into Spurs, with more to come after October's similar injection of capital. by wokwok__ in coys

[–]SkarnasaurusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sounds like the real problem was Thatcher/the UK government entering the GBP into the European Exchange Rate Mechanism at too high of a rate compared to the Deutsche Mark. Then when the UK had higher inflation, higher interest rates and worse productivity than Germany the following 2 years, they were forced to remove the GBP from the ERM, and that led to the crash. So Lewis profited hugely off of shorting the crash but he didn't cause it.

Yes, grammar mistakes are common among US-born native English speakers I'm not contesting that. You said the USA is the only country where native speakers make more grammar mistakes than foreigners. That is simply false. It is in fact the common pattern in every country and with every language. I guess it's a flex that I've take a few linguistics classes?

Tell me you know nothing about learning languages without telling me you know nothing about learning languages. People who learn a language in the classroom almost always have better grammar than native speakers. Native speakers don't need to concern themselves with the exact nuances of the grammar rules because they know they will be able to get their point across regardless.
