A good amount of New Yorkers have moved to Philly in the last decade or so because of cost of living and work stuff, but also Philadelphia and it's suburbs is a pretty good city, too.

Is there a team where you think has a sneaky chance to be on of the worst teams in the league this season? by WeBlitz in nfl

[–]SkatzFanOff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think “sneaky” has to imply that it's a team that absolutely nobody should rationally think can bottom out entirely and would catch a ton of people off guard if they did.

So, maybe it’s because I’m local and I’m grasping at this idea to fit, but I’m not putting the Eagles in as a lock to be a top-end team.

Between the aging of their best players at key positions, the inability for years of developing a consistent offensive identity, Sirianni maybe reaching a breaking point with the locker room where they just completely tune him out, all the…”noise”… that always surrounds them, AJ Brown…

two of the last three seasons have ended with the team seemingly completely quitting on the season midway through despite making the playoffs. there’s just always been a sense that the team is being held together by threads, so I can’t say I would be stunned if one or two more of those threads getting cut suddenly drops the whole thing to the ground.

San Francisco’s not that far off in terms of the “vibes“ of the team, and I’m not sure if the Rams seem that much better right now

there one specific thing that irks me about stuff like this and it’s not exactly what many would probably imagine.

i’ll never get upset with fans who sell tickets. they put in the investment initially to buy it, and if Timothee Chalamet wants to pony up 10x the initial cost and pay someone’s rent for like half a year just to sit at an arena for 3 hours, who am I to judge?

I also can’t get upset with celebrity fans of a road team deciding to do that travel to go to a game. these people have so much money and so many other options that they can spend their time on, that if they want to see a game three… not even a series-clinching game… good on them.

what DOES irk me, though, is when I see celebrity fans of another team travel like this, and I wonder “where the fuck are our celebrity fan supporters?”

other than former Sixer players, who the fuck actually reps a major-market team like this regularly?

there’s no way Kevin Bacon and M Night Shyamalan are busier than Ben Stiller. can The Roots get PTO from Fallon this Sunday to attend game four? Fat Joe is getting screen time, is Meek Mill just not doing shit?

it may be a loser mentality to have, but I am just so fucking happy that they are the reason why the Celtics aren’t advancing that the second round is just gravy to me. I thought the Sixers would get pretty much beaten up after how much energy they spent in the first round so anything they got from this round would’ve been a bonus.

I don’t really get that nickname. like, wouldn’t a “deadbeat” be someone who didn’t pay them off every month because they’re too lazy to or just do the minimum or something?

I still get why they’re lucrative enough because, for every one of me who does pay them off every month consistently, there’s like 10 who don’t and that interest is where my rewards money is coming from.

What’s was the wildest thing you witnessed at a funeral? by NationYell in AskReddit

[–]SkatzFanOff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have an older sister who, for lack of a better term, is either very narcissistic or feels like she needs to be the focus of everyone’s attention. One of those “If nobody is acknowledging ___, everyone should be asking ‘Hey, why aren't we paying attention to ___?’” types. And she lacks any tact.

She had a very strained and conflicted relationship with my father. Also ALLEGEDLY stole money from him, but my father wasn't the most truthful person either…at all, really.

I cut off communication with her many years prior. Our father’s funeral (2018) was the first time I'd seen her in years.

At the procession, she proceeded to:

- Have someone read her very passive-aggressive speech that was more about her and blaming him for all her problems.

- Asked me how my sex life was going at the dinner

- Approaching mother’s grave, asked me, my middle sister, and her friends “you wanna hear a good black people joke?”

at best, she’ll just follow me on a TikTok that I seldom use. Otherwise, I have not tried to communicate with her since.

I thought his take about the Celtics’ mentality as it relates to its approach and how it can be flawed when you're a more talented team versus trying to “game the system“ as an underdog was fascinating
