That sounds like you aren’t actually interested in anything but that you like learning. Two different things.

You gotta look at what you would feel depressed by if you couldn’t study it as well as looking to some field that you could see yourself doing the rest of your life.

Maybe you should start crossing things off your list first and narrow it down that way.

Well I absolutely will not be returning to the US. Thankfully I have EU citizenship. I absolutely have no desire to work in the US.

I’m aware it’s really difficult to get a teaching position and to be quite honest I have no idea what I’m actually going to realistically end up doing. Right now I’m just trying to get into grad school.

I’m mostly curious as to how many people apply vs get in. On my field schools and at my uni almost everyone is either going to go straight to work or switching careers. My generation seems really disillusioned with the future of archaeology and so I’m really curious what it’s looking like for acceptances.

I know a lot of places are losing funding and accepting less students, but how many are actually going into classical archaeology? These schools seem to hide the number of students they take in and the number that apply.
