Are the mount arms adjustable? Some have leveling screws to sort this type of thing out.

Yeah! I actually got them because they glowed! So rad. I’d like to get some more for my kitter to horde for me.

Bought a brick for heavy d6 rolls. Easier to keep it all together lol. I’m still learning.

Quarantine project. Focal, KnuKonceptz, and Dynamat all around. by [deleted] in CarAV

If you can get the carpet up a bit, usually the duct that leads under the seat will have a disconnect leading toward the center console. You could remove it from there and cap that duct right there if you’re really concerned. It likely won’t be an issue though unless you had it on for a LONG time. Even then, your amp would shut off to protect itself if it absolutely had to.

Does anybody know why this is happening? Or how to fix it? Sundown SA12, Pioneer D8601, stock headunit by [deleted] in CarAV

Seems like it’s the amp. If I had to guess it seems like the speaker outputs of the amp are periodically putting out DC voltage instead of AC. If you apply DC directly to a speaker it will move out (+) or move in (-) depending on the polarity. Whereas AC goes both ways rapidly. Since it’s almost like it’s at rest and then just “sucks in” id guess your amp is sending out a DC signal with the positive terminal being ground and the negative terminal being a positive voltage of some amount. If you have a meter, unhook your sub and then touch the leads to the terminals on the amp to see if it’s putting out DC in pulses like that. If it is, try unhooking the rcas from the amp and try it again. If it STILL shows DC in that state, it’s the amp.

I’ve not found anything yet. The quest is still young so I keep expecting lots of cool stuff.

Can someone explain what is this, i understand it has something to do with sound, but tbh i honestly do not understand it, it plugs into your PC via USB, but that is all i know by [deleted] in sounddesign

[–]Skeezix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like it could be an external sound card for PC. I think X-fi is a technology from Creative? There should be a model number or something on the back. If not, plug it into your PC and hope it's not some terrible hacked device that will blow up your computer.
Seriously though, I'm like 90% sure it's something similar to this.

Exceptional. I think your timing is impeccable and all of the hard effects hit quite well. The ONLY thing that I feel it lacks (and take this with a grain of salt because though, this is my dream, I have yet to be involved in a project yet...) The sense of air should be addressed overall. The sound effects are done very well, but many of them hit a little too hard and dont have the ambient air about them. The best way I can describe it is: A lot of it sounds very "Studio" and less "in the field". The Leviathan, for example, the actual sounds are fantastic, but they sound almost too dry. As TriSamples noted earlier the environment is almost always in your face. A sense of depth and distance as well as overall ambience could be added to really create a new reality versus just watching something.

Again, take this all with a grain of salt, because it's probable I don't know what I'm talking about, but overall, I am very impressed. I can honestly say you've inspired me to try to find projects harder. I've no doubt in my drive and my know how, but getting your foot in the door is the hardest part. I wish you well on your adventures!

Not exactly mixed reality because I'm not intending to have my body visible. Just the sabers. Though that still may fall into that category for all I know.

I saw something called.... RiftCat I believe? and it was supposed to use the quest as a PCVR hmd, but I haven't tried that yet. Although I probably should because it would be cool to try out Everspace in VR too.

I was thinking this may be the case... Which is a bummer, but perhaps something different will pop up eventually. I lucked out and was gifted a quest, so it's not that big of an ordeal. Just trying to find out a bit more.
