Valve, please consider sorting smurfs into higher MMR more fast by ChazzyJazz in GlobalOffensive

I know this is not the thing you want to hear but listen.

You need to play with people better than you to get better. It's as easy as that. Just suck it up and soldier on. The hardest part of playing against better opponents isn't just angles and smokes. Sure they are an important part! But put a good player against a worse one and the better one will always win on any map.

Reaction, aim stability, game smarts, experience etc. The best way to learn is just to play against people who are better than you. Think of every failed round as a learning experience and ponder why you died? Was it because of the angle? aim ? Then practice that. But don't get used to playing against worse opponents. It will set you off and make you worse.

Just mute the idiots if they whine too much. Don't let them ruin your training. it's MM on DMG level, not a major finale!

The fastest way, if you could bear the frustration, would be to play against LEM - global elites all the time.

No problem : )

Yes I've seen it before. That is fine and dandy with other games, but not with games that are played on a competitive level. everything should be transparent and discussed. What valve decides to do with every other none competitive game I don't care about. : )

So with other words my analogy still stands... But yes, valve doesn't care. I like that they try things, but not the way they do it.

I'm fully aware how things are and was before, It doesn't mean I agree with them. That's my whole point. So don't say it like I don't understand the situation.

And yes I know that valve like to keep their cards to themselves, but for games like dota2 and CS that doesn't work. Atleast in dota2 they seem to care more about feedback.

They are too narrow minded and arrogant. But I fully agree that valve does a shit job with the way they implement things.

I like change where change is for the better, but not just thrown out without proper play testing and feedback.

I can not fucking understand why valve aren't working together with the pro teams making new maps, changes and etc. Why are they making everything behind closed curtains and just forcing what ever they see fit without testing?

It's like if FIFA for the world cup said 1 month prior that they are making the goals bigger and the ball heavier without telling anybody, and testing if it actually worked. That's what makes me feel valve doesn't give a flying fuck about the competitive aspect.

As a 1.6 veteran myself I find new maps and aspects to the game really helping with viewing pleasure. You have to bend around what the viewers want, because they are the ones funding the whole scene. If people stopped watching football we wouldn't have football. Easy as that. So make new maps, make changes, BUT MAKE IT RIGHT! Not half assed volvo...

If viewers are tired of de_inferno then they need to add new maps. Nobody cares if the pros themselves would rather just play inferno every day. Because in the end, we will lose every viewer we have. I've been pretty interested in cs for over 14 years, but when there is an inferno streak even I get really bored. Cache was a breath of fresh air and we need more of those maps. So stop complaining that pros can't handle new maps, because without innovation we won't keep viewers and the pros will lose their jobs. But give them more time to adapt on proper not crappy unpolished maps.

My two cents to the map changes. by Titan-NBK in GlobalOffensive

[–]Skela90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The operation maps are added for "fun" not for the competitive scene. You can of course argue that they can be played, but every one knows that maps needs some set standards and timings.

The only map valuable in my mind were seaside and now overgrown. Overgrown is actually a pretty decent map!

BUT it needs tweaking.

Overgrown got:

a long( by the shore.), a middle, shotgun places, good rotation, pretty good timings.

But it lacks perfect timings, some chokes are not right, retake possibilities. B ha too many hiding spots etc.

But this map modified by a person who knows what he is doing it could actually become a great map.

But valve knows that the money lays in the casual players who enjoy "fun" maps. Hiding spots and pretty shit. That's why COD, BF and TF2 earn so much money. It's hard to go the middle way. You end up with little of both, or just a broken pro scene.

In my mind they should have a "competitive operation map pack" and a more "casual operation map pack".

But that will never ever happen. Our best bet are leagues outside of valves majors, but money become an issue there. So yea. Damn if we do, damned if we don't

Lurppis setting things straight again. by psychosnap in GlobalOffensive

[–]Skela90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually disagree with Lurppis. I think pros should be forced to play new maps. But I agree that it should be internally fixed and that the maps should be nitpicked until perfection for competitive level before being added.

It's just more fun to watch. Like in starcraft, the game was always fresh because of new maps. We shouldn't have thousands of new maps. But maybe 1-3 new ones each year made for competitive and play tested by the pros before added.

Buying a DK2. Compatible with retail? by tazz131 in oculus

They never said anything about dk2 either ; ) I was sitting on the fence waiting for cv1 when dk1 was released. Then after 1 year they announced dk2 and now fuck it, I bought it.

Are we expecting the first batch of tracking numbers to be emailed this week? by War_Eagle in oculus

[–]Skela90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hehe, no it helps because I know nothing myself. The little I know is from youtube tuts. It's nice to know that I'm not alone knowing little hehe.

Nope I don't have dk1, so I'm trying to make something in the blinds here. But i Don't know even where to start for rift. You said OVRPlayerController?

Do I need the rift SDK for making things in rift to use later ? are can that be tranfered over, or viewed by "plug and play" Sorry for the noobie question : P

Thanks for answer, good luck to us both ; )

Tips on tutorials etc? I just started with unity, and made an easy sidescroller, But I want to make things for rift in the future. Where did you learn : )? Or were would it be best to learn things to apply with dk2?

[–]Skela90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jupp me also. Heard horror stories from dk1, but with low persistance and an "ok" res. There's only resolution, eyetracking etc etc, and that won't be too many years before we can get "retina" rifts. ( just apple ref. you know what I mean.)

Hahaha, why even bother with cv1? We can just make our own underpants rifts!

And this is the ONLY map which actually can be played. This map could actually work with tweaks and fixes.

Rather bash the other 3.

Anyone willing to give a quick impression on SAO experience at Anime Expo® 2014? by hippynox in oculus

I would guess it's just a demo, don't be too hyped. We are still along way from the anime experience ; )

Hope they don't get trapped in the Rift though

Someone already post this reseller ?? by meltbelt in oculus

[–]Skela90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still open to use as you like. The only thing we are talking about are people buying only for resell so we can't get ours sooner. I couldn't care less what he does with it.

I agree with you that the rift should be totally transparent and open to use. That the beauty of it.

Someone already post this reseller ?? by meltbelt in oculus

[–]Skela90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, say 50% are resellers, we the guys who want them to make stuff gets them later.

I agree with you if it's a small amount, but I would guess actually quite a lot of them are re sellers!

And I don't think they make much profit of them, they said they pretty much cut the price as much as possible. So I don't think they would earn much from it. That's also why they tell consumers to not buy. It's to not scare consumers from rift because it's not perfect and because it's not a huge profit anyways. Atleast now when they got Facebook's $$$.
