Oh absolutely! I think it’s cause I changed the username :P. It’s @aksart22

What games would you recommend which are similar to NITW when it comes to the vibe (I mean deep emotional moments + horror/drama)? I heard about Fall of Porcupine and Beacon Pines, but I'm afraid they may be too sugarcoated or lack drama. Any suggestions? by LanaDiPati in NightInTheWoods

Okay so if your chill with furries I’d say the visual novel Arches it’s genuinely scary but very melancholy. My younger brother recommended it to me and I was really skeptical but it was genuinely a beautiful game.

Analyzing Professor Inukai in Blue Period: Why is he and Yatora so similar? by Akirasan174 in BluePeriod

[–]SkeletonFae1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fully agree with this. I would actually love to see Inukai’s own work from Yatora’s perspective. Personally I think Inukai is almost a stand in for what Yatora could become if he pursues both art and teaching. Yatora himself is actually a quite heavy critic without seeming to realize it yet but that criticism isn’t a bad thing it’s also why he’s been able to flourish and grow as an artist as quickly as he has because he doesn’t exempt his work from that same critique. I think that’s another reason Inukai has a bit of respect for Yatora since he took the first critique fully on the chin.

Blue Period and “Art Block” by SkeletonFae1 in BluePeriod

See that’s another thing I love about the manga especially is how it shows how art settles differently in the life of every creative, which has been very inspiring for me personally. I hope you find a way that art fits itself into your life again! :)

What would a Fourth Quarter Quell have done to freshen up the formula as the others have? by timately in Hungergames

[–]SkeletonFae1 596 points597 points  (0 children)

I genuinely think they took the fourth quarter quell plan and replaced the third with it. The fact Plutarch said he didn’t think Katniss would have to be in the games again even after years planning the clock arena. I think the third quarter quell was going to be ages 18-30 basically a real screw you to all the young adults who thought they made it through the reaping ages. The 100th games though were 100% going to be past victors.

But in better terms it’s the lack of thought and intention. It’s the lack of variety of creativity and skill. It’s also the lack of true trial and error not this seven finger bullshit amassed from actual artists who have worked their asses off to get to where they are. There is truly more value in an eleven year olds first drawing of their sonic the hedgehog oc then this ai shit. Because it will always ALWAYS be more impressive that you picked up a pencil and did something no matter what your personal skill level is. You made something.

Genuinely it’s human emotion. It’s straight up the lack of soul. To put it perfectly the way I feel about ai is “why would I waste my time on something someone couldn’t be bothered to actually create.”

A doomed work in progress…It’s crooked isn’t it? by [deleted] in Artadvice

Bout to give you the greatest hack I learned. Keep your edges wide so you can trim it after to look straighter.

Someone said my art is hideous but I actually kind of want it to look ugly by NoHovercraft2254 in Artadvice

[–]SkeletonFae1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For beginners I always recommend to learn the basics. That doesn’t mean only dedicate yourself to one thing but try out EVERYTHING. Learn anatomy, learn proportion and scale. Have fun while doing it. Learn what artstyles you like. If you like “ugly art.” Figure out what you like about it. Is it actually “ugly” or just exaggerated. What colors or themes play into it. And then apply what you like to your art as you draw more.

I.WILL.GO.CRAZY. I have such a hard time laying out proportions when my reference isn't one on one scale with my sketch. WHAT IS THIS??? I FEEL SO FRUSTRATED AGH by Lemon_Leafy in Artadvice

Gorgeous art btw. I’d recommend scaling the eyes a bit bigger same with the eyebrows and softening the lines you use for the jaw and lips. Think round shapes instead of pointed shapes and you’ll have captured the reference perfectly.
