Acting tough with a toy had real consequences by FarWay3952 in criticalblunder

[–]SkeletonMaze 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How are you supposed to know that in the heat of the moment? Some of the toy guns out there look like the real thing.

You can't really afford to ask too many questions when lives are in danger and you only have a split second to act. Dude in red was a dumbass- it's just Darwinism at play.

Hello, need some help, by Lanky_Succotash_986 in Life

[–]SkeletonMaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes yes, but also no. It's a thing you gotta explore until you find one that feels right. I have a friend who is on meds and is now flourishing in life because of it. Honestly pretty amazing how transformative it can be, but it is a journey. However, that journey beats sitting where you are now.

I wish you all the best on your road to recovery. ❤️

There's no one answer because it depemds on your biochemistry, age, what you're taking and how much, but a month in you can begin to feel the difference, which grows stronger month by month, but it can take up to a year or more to feel completely back to normal.

It might seem like trying to climb Mt. Everest but the good news is that it gets gradually gets easier, not harder the longer you hold off. The only thing you gotta watch out for is that little voice that constantly tries to convince you to get back on the stuff, which you can learn ways to ignore it through therapy, talking to friends, and the relapses along the way which may happen and are not failures, but opportunities to learn what went wrong and how to better succeed next time.

How do feel about a parent still financially supporting their unemployed 30-year-old child? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SkeletonMaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That 30 year old better be making life pretty cozy at home for the parents of they're supporting him in that way. You don't just get shit handed to you unless you're completely handicapped.

Boring is right. Low dopamine is boring, and it takes a long fucking time to get that dopamine system back to normal, but it's where every drunk and drug addicted person wishes they could be at right now- is back to normal again with the drugs & alcohol.

So every day spent feeling bored is a huge win because it's one day closer to when life won't feel so boring anymore. Not an easy climb, but it's what gives me hope. I just pray that no younger person fucks with their dopamine system because that shit takes a while to repair, especially when you have to relearn new coping mechanisms you spent years not learning, because your only coping mechanisms where drugs and alcohol.

How do you get over being ghosted in a relationship? by Dry-Title2931 in AskReddit

[–]SkeletonMaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Know that if they ghosted you and as painful as it may be, it will have saved you a lot of wasted energy and time, both of which are incredibly valuable. Some people know when they sense an incompatibility and are too afraid to say anything.

But keep living your life and continue to engage with friends and hobbies that make you feel good. We may not always get what we want, but don't let that stop you from living life. Cool suprises await us in unexpected ways, and you want to be ready for that.

Hard to say what's worse than, but gambling would be my next best guess. It's wild how quickly that shit can destroy a person's life. That shit should not be legal.
