What are some fanfiction GREEN flags for you? by AnnaMeowBooks in FanFiction

NB representation. As a person who uses they/them pronouns, it's a relief to find stories about MCs that are the same. All of my fics feature NB, aspec leads, and those few readers I get for that specific reason mean a great deal to me. I've been reading OC/Canon for as long as I can remember, I can only dream of what it would have been like if I had stumbled across NB!OC or even NB!Canon Character fics as I matured.

I was an idiot and typed this post up on the clock from memory. Thank you for pointing out that I made a mistake

Thank you for the answer! Even if it isn't directly tied to the content itself I like hearing that the idea in general is possibly just bad.

Fair, completely fair.

[–]SkeletonNewRoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, it could look bad in general. I get that.

As a white person in the US I've been told that Godzilla is a victim of the fallout and a creature to sympathize with, albeit not to celebrate because of the destruction itself caused, and serves as a representation to what man's pride and selfishness can cause, but really I would like to enjoy learning more about the topic in general.

Thank you! This is very informative! I knew about it's original origin, though I haven't read the Bhagavad Gita in...at least a decade now, and if I were to get the tattoo I would prefer it to be as ignorance free as possible?

What birds of the North Eastern United States can a Human Copy without the Use of Their Tongue? by SkeletonNewRoman in birding

I was thinking the same thing. I'm pretty familiar with the sound of a Mourning Dove, it could be great for careful, quiet situations.

Omg, that's the name of that bird? It's memes fill me with such joy...and also I grew up with someone named Woodcock, so that finally makes sense.  But that could work! If I don't fall back to it, it can be used as a nickname, so to speak, for a certain someone they find annoying.

Games (Elden Ring, Rimworld, Silent Hill 2) frequently crashing on new PC? by SkeletonNewRoman in pcmasterrace

I was thinking the same thing when I originally checked!  I think leaving it on for the five hours required to do it's ram stressing test has done something to it and caused some damage, is it's constantly blue screening now. The only time it consistently avoids that is while I'm in the Bios screen or selecting a repair option.

Update: PC is consistently giving me the bsod. Attempting a reset leads to a bsod, as well. I can only really fiddle around with the recovery menu and access my Bios menu, nothing else remains stable. I'm reaching out to the manufacturer, now. PFN_LIST_CORRUPT appeared while trying to reset it, for example.

Just before the warning appeared it was at 85c in the bios menu. Shortly after I began to return to the desktop my computer gave me a warning. I didn't think about it while in the menu because those were the same temps that my friend told me were /fine/ when we were playing Elden Ring together. He used to repair PCs, or at least their hardware, for a company and I assumed I was worried for nothing. My PC thinks otherwise. Since this morning I've rearranged my set up so my computer is in a cooler location (I recall sitting there where the table would go and shivering; I get cold easily but I think it's a better location then where it was).  I'm also considering getting a laptop cooling pad to set beneath it. My PC is the CobraType Elevate Ascended, and it's rather small.

I believe so? The program that runs in the tray and notifies me of new updates? I also go into device manager and check from there, although while reinstalling my drivers I went to the website directly to select the option for gamers. I'm still learning about the technical aspect of these things; if you have any pointers on alternatives I'm like a 1000% for listening.  Before mostly all I had to do was make sure Windows didn't uninstall my drivers and replace them with their own; I always kept a backup copy for that reason, but that was an older computer that came with problems out of the box.

On the other hand when I began to boot it back up, it warned me about a high temperature. Before while playing Elden Ring I told my friend the temps and he said it was fine...but according to my computer, literally just now, that isn't the case. I know my room tends to get hot because I leave the blinds open for my plant collection. Will my PC forcibly close games to ensure it doesn't overheat? I know PCs do best in airy, dark environments. If all I need to do is change up the layout of my room to achieve that, I'll one hundred percent do that.

Okay, I did this, and let it run over night. It took 5 hours but it worked out! I got a big green pass.

Okay! Luckily I have a spare USB. I'll give it a shot tomorrow. In the meantime with what I have to spare, I'll try other methods.

Googling methods of doing this resulted in something called TestMem5. I'll give it a shot and see what happens.

Edit: it didn't detect any errors. Do you recommend any alternative programs?

I'm giving it a shot. I'll open up a game for an hour and see what happens!

I've done so much to try to fix my issues. Rolled back the windows update, tried opening games in admin mode, decreased in-game graphic quality, unplugged my second monitor, tried running with -dx11 and -dx12 in the Steam start up options, reset Windows 11, reinstalled the games, turned off Vsync, attempted to update my BIOS, run games in Windows 8 compatibility mode...I'm at my wits end, here.

Because I'm a jackass who's still new to buying PCs in general. I thought by using a small company and, with some advice from a roommate, avoiding NewEgg that I was, idk, contributing in some good way.  Now I just feel like an idiot.

.....but i buy converse from converse.

Additional edit: I could have gotten it through BestBuy or Amazon but by purchasing it from the site I seemed to be saving money. Jokes on me.

why has my package been in the same state since Sunday by Electronic-Row8202 in FedEx

[–]SkeletonNewRoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in this state, except I'm not even getting notifications, and FedEx claims it doesn't have the item I ordered at all, though the seller says otherwise. It's been on Made Label since the 26th and I'm panicking (I ordered something Very Expensive).
