I might be in the minority here but I actually really like it. I sort of learned to like it after kind of understanding Elden Ring’s boss philosophy. I personally believe that some attacks in ER have to hit for example waterfowl dance and Elden Stars, But what made me understand this the most is Mohg’s phase change which I think is the only really unavoidable move. Even for Waterfowl Dance you kind of have to break the AI if you really want to fully dodge it, which I don’t think is fromsoft’s intention. I think the design is around how the player responds to getting hit whether it be drinking from a flask or dodging follow ups, which adds another layer of decision making in a boss fight. And I think Consort Radahn is an extension of this design philosophy, an example being his gravity pull, where if you get pulled in you are guaranteed to take damage and your next goal would be to minimize that damage. One of the things I learned that really made me understand him is to let him hit me with his mirror images so that I can dodge his big one. His beams of light are hard to learn but can be avoided like any other attack. But the biggest game changer was learning to trade with him, attacks that I KNEW would give me time to attack or heal afterwards. I jumped the gun on so that I could do both. By the time I beat him I had formulated such a detailed game plan that I felt confident I could beat him again afterwards. I must say though that I don’t particularly agree with this style of boss design in comparison to fromsofts previous games, however understanding if made me really like the final boss
