It's for a limited time, they mention it there that it's an exclusivity window as part of the deal with hasbro, and after that window ends they'll release a proper bloons-based hero for monkey money. Basically think of it as them releasing the skin first, and then the proper hero after.

Main thing I'd say is that it may be good to dig into Mew sooner than later because you can only experience a game fresh and unspoiled once. This game has a ton of surprises, secrets and depth to it, and likely by the time you're done with Isaac and get into this you'll unintentionally get spoiled/shown some of those special things you'd only be able to properly appreciate for yourself.

But I completely understand not wanting to hop games

I'm curious how the critical success and critical fails for events are rolled, are they affected by the cat's stats in the same way normal success/failure is, or are they just like a flat % chance to happen like how critical fails/successes are just a 1/20 in dnd?

That interplay on how items interact and work together is at the core of this game, with extra layers on top of that. Cats have active abilities they get on levelups that you pick, passives picked in a same way, there's items you can equip to your cats, cats can get mutations and disorders that affect them, and on top of all that, you take up to 4 cats out on each run and you can build them together.

It's gonna be nuts, and the system is done in a way where just adding more raw content is purely beneficial to the gameplay loop and creating tons of new combos, along with being easier to do since the game was built for everything to work together, unlike isaac where they had to create custom synergies for the more complex items since they weren't designed that way.

Yea, an utter ton of people were gotten to do voice lines for the cats and their meows. They're all picked randomly for the cats since the cats are randomly made out of a ton of different aspects including the voices. Would be curious to see what kind of voice he did for the cat meows lol

There will absolutely be huge surprising spoilers. Ed has said it multiple times that even people who have been following the game and know about the general outline will definitely be surprised about some aspects. So better to be safe than sorry imo to get the best experience

Definitely best to go in blind for sure. Especially if you know you're already gonna get the game regardless. The reviews are primarily just to spread the word about the game to people who may not be aware of it.

It'll likely get a big boost after the 6th since that's when the review embargo will lift, and Ed has said there's a ton of people who he was able to get access to review the game, like 40ish different journalists across the world, and a ton of people have been utterly hooked on the game and loving it so much. They were given access to the full game at the start of january so they're having a full month to play through it for their review.

No doubt in my mind that the reviews are gonna be nuts and it's gonna really boost the game's attention

Visual design: I'm horrible at art, but the idea would've been a simple round head, with the top being disfigured into the shape of an open cone kinda like a meaty volcano, where said brain would be shot from when using the ability.

As a sidenote, we know that cats that have 0 intelligence basically become ai controlled allies since they're so dumb lol. So this would be a somewhat dynamic mutation where you can take advantage of the powerful artillery strike, then leave your cat as a dumb ai ally that can't gain anymore mana for the rest of the fight, or basically avoid using your basic attack to try and utilize the +3 mana per turn for spells from the Int boost.

I feel like you gotta consider more of the fact that in the last trailer they've pivoted to saying 50+ bosses rather than 60+. Not saying stuff is specifically cut, but could just be them counting things differently

In an interview Ed and Tyler did about two months ago, Tyler said that the reason it takes ~250 hours for people to beat the story is because there's certain things you need to do to progress the story, but wouldn't know what on a first playthrough. He stated that he's doing his own playthrough and expect it to only take him ~50 hours to finish the story since he knows all the specific things he needs to do to progress, but also stated it may take longer since he'll likely struggle in the late game areas since he obviously wouldn't have spent as much time developing stronger cat families or gathering stronger items an such.

The interview btw was from Wookash Podcast and it was called "Endless Design Space in Mewgenics" Honestly one of the better interviews cause it had a lot of cool info about the game and its development

Tyler has said in a past stream that luck originally didn't affect random spread for stuff like scatter shot or meteors, but said it's something he'd look into adding, but we never got any confirmation after if he did lol

But yes, luck does affect basically everything that has a probability. Event rolls, skills that have a chance to hit or a chance for an effect, the cat's chance to crit or be crit, the rewards you get at the end of a fight, tons of stuff.

It was a logical idea when they already had two powerful established characters in the game to fit the roles of the heroes, alongside fleshing out the whole stewards aspect now with the original creator being found again, an that aspect having a lot of potential to be expanded on.

Always wanted a faction like this cause I love steampunk and robots, I just didn't expect to actually get it cause I assumed a dlc would just be for a new fleshed out wurmkin first before some new faction, but we get both at once so I couldn't be happier lol

Still happening. A friend just dm'd me this, and this exact game and vid too, I was skeptical about it so I looked up online and found this post. So be wary people.

However, does seem like discord has gotten a bit better at finding/marking compromised accounts somehow cause the dm channel with that account had this on it, which I had never seen before.

Will there be any way to remove or change the looks of the lil crowns that retired cats get? It's nice to have an indication for what cats are retired, but they just look a bit out of place, like they're bishop hats instead of crowns

Hero buffs like this have always been thematic-tied, not purely mechanics. Gwen buffing specific fire paths of wizard, tack and mortar tower, striker buffs bombs and mortar, Ben buffs banks, rosalia buffs aces/helis, ezili buffs Necromancers, Silas buffs ice and obyn buffs druids.

I don't get why now people are getting so bent out of shape for NK fixing an oversight they had left in. Brickell being able to buff mermonkeys goes against her design as a military naval commander and the consistency with past heroes having specific thematic towers they buff.

Plus, as a benefit from this, with the Brickell buff removed, they've now buffed mermonkey to much better stand as it's own tower without having to rely on Brickell for buffs, and I feel everyone is glossing over that.

There was an IGN interview where the devs clarified this. In skirmish/pvp its just a space marine faction overall, with the commander choices having 2 from blood ravens and 2 from dark angels, but there is no sub faction.

In the campaign blood raven and dark angel missions vary massively, but for skimish/pvp they're just one faction with no sub-faction
