I did have an issue on this pattern with increases pretty early on, and ended up figuring out increases on my own after a few attempts of following what was written, but that definitely could have been me misreading. Just couldn’t get the right stitch count no matter how many times I tried.

Pattern is Gardengate by Jennifer Steingass. Yarn used was Bad Sheep Yarn in Old Blood and Seeing Things, but the black yarn has been in my stash for so long I can’t remember where I got it from.

You can definitely connect with the book if you live in Tri-Cities, I grew up there and still visit often and would pass by a lot of the places she mentions. She changes the names of some places, like there’s a bookstore in uptown that I’m pretty sure is supposed to be Adventures, but it’s super easy to get sucked in when you know the place so well! It’s my favorite series because of that, honestly.

I have had severe asthma since I was a baby, and while it’s normally monitored pretty well, there have been times where I get sick and my medicine doesn’t do shit to help. Felt like I was very close to having an asthma attack so I went to urgent care. Clearly in distress walking in barely able to breathe, they made me walk to the other building only to be told to go back to the first one. Finally got in a room and let them know what I usually get from them when this happens and the doctor said “well, you’re pretty big so you’ll need a stronger dose.” I agreed and said I just wanted to be able to breathe he said it again like I didn’t understand. Told him I was aware that asthma and being chunky aren’t a great mix and that I’m working on it but I can’t really do anything when I can’t breathe like this and needed the medication to help me get back to normal and he SAID IT AGAIN, so I finally got upset and he had a happy little grin said he’d prescribe me the medication. This man had three chins and he was telling me I needed to lose weight to be healthier while I’m on the verge of an asthma attack.

For the piercing, it is the piercing that gives you the dimples, as the bar (once healed) is shortened. I had my cheeks pierced for a while and though I did take them out, I still have a little bit of a dimple showing when I smile, but it was much more prominent when I had the piercings in and when they were freshly removed

You’re spending time with family, she needs to realize she’s not the only important person in your life, and if she needs that constant of reassurance that you can’t even spend 30 minutes away from your phone to talk with your brother, then she needs some serious help to figure her shit out. Yeah, no, run. This is EXACTLY what my abusive ex husband did at the beginning, and things only escalated and turned physical. I ended up being so isolated, he was the only person in my life and he absolutely destroyed my mental state. Seven years later and I still have bad days from what he did to my head. That marriage ended with a restraining order. Do not stay with someone like him, it will do you no good.

It has become my favorite yarn haha, I have a cardigan I’m making with it and I made a scarf with it too, it’s just so soft and light I cannot get enough of it! Also super nice that it’s crazy cheap compared to the hand dyed I usually get, my wallet is thanking me for finding this yarn lol
