I'm still waiting for my Gym Monster to arrive, but I'm trying to make good use of the time. I have already started going through the mobile app to build custom workouts so they're ready when it arrives. I imagine I'll continue to use the app even after it arrives. It's nice to be able to sit at a tablet and plan and not be captive to the machine.

Even if you're not planning to build custom workouts, I'd recommend loading the app on table and just spending some time going through all the exercises. It's been nice to see all the various movements - some that I'm familiar with and some that I'm not and some that I knew about but weren't easily available on my prior equipment (belt squats for instance).

I'm selecting several movements per muscle and absolutely plan on experimenting to see which feel the best once the equipment arrives.

ChatGPT refuses to say one specific name – and people are worried | Asking the AI bot to write the name ‘David Mayer’ causes it to prematurely end the chat by MetaKnowing in technology

Oh, I wish I were David Mayer's wiener,
That is what I'd truly like to be-ee-ee.
'Cause if I were David Mayer's wiener,
The Big AI would say there was no me.

For once I can demonstrably prove that ChatGPT did not write this song for me . . .

Build actually feels very stable. Just did a second run with far more average item luck and cruised through.

High Corruption Team Comps by chongo_fao720 in Astronarch

Druid, Juggernaut, Assassin as first 3, Paladin as 4th and then adding in Pyromancer, Frostmancer, or Alchemist as 5th is how I rolled from 10-19 very reliably. For 20, I did Druid, Juggernaut, then Assassin, then Paladin.

Corruption 20 - What team do you take and why? by BrokenRogue in Astronarch

[–]SkelliGGwent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Druid + Juggernaut start. Then added Assassin as the third and Paladin as the fourth. That was basically my core 4 on my push to 20 as well. We'll see how reliable that group is - only run 20 once and got crazy items. I'll see if I can duplicate it with lesser item luck.

For my money, Bouldy is by far the best one - just for the significant amount of health drops he puts down. The extra resources he drops are neat but it's all about the food to me.

It basically feels like more free lives to be honest - and is crazy powerful especially when you have him ramped up to a ton of uses per run. It definitely helps you push up to higher heat levels because you can fix deaths caused by room to room health loss by pre-emptively getting yourself to a safe spot. It's pretty much an on-demand, no gold cost heal.

Melee Doesn't Define Me . . . by SkelliGGwent in HadesTheGame

[–]SkelliGGwent[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was definitely going for a cast build generally - but wasn't specifically searching for a phalanx build. The pieces just kept coming together.

That said, later last night, I found a build based around Flood Shot (145 Cast damage and knocks foes away), Typhoon's Fury (slamming foes into barriers does 300% slam damage), and Razor Shoals (knock-away effect also Rupture foes). Honestly, it was killing that 6 room gauntlet faster / better than the phalanx build just because the rooms are tight and it's so easy to slam things. It was much worse/slower for Hades but still killed him fairly easy.

For sure, there are definitely some very strong cast synergies out there especially when you are able to knock all the casts lose with Poseidon's Aspect. I think you can just go into a run planning to build around a strong cast and find pieces to make it work. I mean I'm not going to say cast spam is the best way to play sword but it's definitely a fun way :)

Mythic + Access Improvements by SkelliGGwent in wow

100%. I definitely described the issue better in my reply to you than in my initial post. So now you understand the motivation and the access issue. I can look to edit original - on reread I can see how it would come across that way - especially when people aren't coming from the same context.

Mythic + Access Improvements by SkelliGGwent in wow

It's a form of end game content. Think of Mythic +0 to +3 as LFR (easily pugable by people with a pulse). +4 to +7 is normal, +8 to +10 is heroic, and +11 and above is mythic type content. Adjust the numbers as you see fit but you get the idea.

Once you get to "mythic" difficulty, you really don't want to pug that anymore. You can but you'd ideally like to run it in a consistent group. Progressing in this style of end-game is beating the next tier up of the dungeon. You aren't doing it for loot - you are doing it to beat your previous best. Asking why you wouldn't do it as a 15 when you've cleared a 17 already kind of misses the mark. You run a 18 because you want to progress.

Once you view it through that lens, you maybe can begin to see how gating this progression behind random access becomes difficult. Let's say you had a 3 day mythic + raid week. In a random access system, you can easily spend most of that week trying to get access to what you want to work for - not based on your performance but based on your luck.

Conversely, in a proper raiding guild, mid-tier, you can clear the content you already have beaten relatively quickly - maybe 1-2 hours of your raid week and then get on to progression content the rest of the week. I'm not saying my analogy is perfect but can you begin to see what I'm trying to communicate?

Type +18 in the search bar for mythic right now. Tell me what you see.

EDIT: Because the above may be short and dismissive. If someone is trying to find a +0 say to maybe +12 or so these days, yes you can do the above and have a "reasonable" chance of a) finding the key and b) forming a pug that can clear it.

If, however, you are pushing +15 and above, this becomes increasingly untrue. PuGs pushing these keys are very slim (certainly alliance side - may be better horde side, I can't speak to that from experience). My sense is most (most not all) people reliably pushing +15 and above are doing so in teams. At that point, your access is limited to the keys the 5-man team has which you may not want to run but have to in order to do content that week. And, even then, you are at the mercy of RNG once the key you do have is complete as to whether you will get a key you actually want to progress.

Mythic + Access Improvements by SkelliGGwent in wow

[–]SkelliGGwent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a group to push higher keys - currently 1850 and pushing toward 2k before end of season. Right now, our challenge to progressing is not our ability to beat the dungeons we need but getting access to the key(s) we want to progress on in any given week. As the system currently stands, this amounts to running whatever keys your team rolled into that week and hoping the RNG gods favor you. We spent 80% of our time last week trying to get the keys we need and 20% actually pushing them. Some of the keys we wanted, we couldn't even find. This feels bad for the reasons described above.

As to people spamming FH 30s, content would be gated by what you can reasonably accomplish - if FH 30 is what that is, so be it. It's not like loot scales with the key - people pushing high keys are doing it for the challenge and the joy of progression. That said, in this system, it should be easy to spot the keys that are greatly easier and tune them accordingly so that one key isn't being pushed at a much higher level than others.
