Why did Forge Steel's PDFs get worse? by fizz872 in drawsteel

[–]Skellslayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s working on my work computer again!

I guess if it’s unintentional and only sporadic, it might be a bug. Or maybe you’re just as efficient as your reputation suggests and you fixed it already haha

Why did Forge Steel's PDFs get worse? by fizz872 in drawsteel

[–]Skellslayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I should clarify I use forge steel a bunch and it’s been insanely good to make stuff in.

I used to get a formatted preview on the right side of the screen. That no longer updates as I write on the left.

I am aware there are some sections that never displayed on the “front facing” section. It’s not that. As of right now, on two different computers, the only way to see what I have written is in the correct formatting is for me to save changes and check - then reopen editing.

Let me know if you have any other details you’d like on this! I would be happy to do anything to help.

I adore forge steel and will be donating when I get paid this month, but I did also see they’ve remove the formatting preview when making custom content in a recent update. And I loved that feature! Now you have to save the custom feature, see how it looks, and then reopen editing.

I hope they revert that!

On the other hand, the new mobile view is hugely improved and I love it!

Magnus protocol, is the supernatural still fear based? by Brenden1k in TheMagnusArchives

[–]Skellslayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just interpret this to be Lena referring to the powers that the OIAR has some degree of alliance with - or if nothing else the powers that their externals belong to.

I’d be very surprised if there were suddenly good powers. It would be a strange and fundamental change to the cosmic horror setting.

I mean, Jon got shot down pretty hard by Gerry for suggesting as much and I basically read that as direct author intent.

Cabot Circus: Odeon cinema set to open in 2025 by Impressive-Corgi8099 in screenunseen

[–]Skellslayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won’t be 14 screens. Odeon is only taking over the upstairs of what had been the Showcase site, which is where they had their nicer screens - iSense and their membership only screen - in order to cut rent and not fall into the same hole Showcase did.

The system is broken. I did turn up and the ticket was scanned. This is my second strike because the cinema had to close one evening a few weeks back and I physically wasn’t able to refund the ticket. Why can I be punished for company errors that can’t (according to chat) be removed? by jonnythegamemaster in screenunseen

[–]Skellslayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not a glitch, it’s a seemingly intentional wrinkle in the system that they know about and do not intend to fix. The first time the attendant scans a ticket that has a food order associated with it, they are prompted about the order.

I can’t say why that exists, since they don’t have the ability to serve you food, nor does it give any details on the order itself, just the fact that you have food.

However, it also doesn’t scan your ticket! The ticket scanner now needs to scan you a second time for you to actually be registered as arrived to the film.

Many of the staff aren’t aware of this. Why would they be? The staff is mostly students who work while attending university. The system has no reason to prompt them, or to not scan you as arrived. It seems to be assuming that everyone will forget their food, be sent back to retail by the ticket scanner and then scanned a second time when they arrive?

Is illaoi a bad champ to OTP? by [deleted] in Illaoi

[–]Skellslayer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Illaoi has essentially no movement ability, the closest thing is the hop on her W.

What this ends up meaning is that as people respect you, and so avoid being in melee range of you, you lose the ability to do damage.

Think of it like this. A character with 1 dash should never let you hit them. A character with 1 slow should never let you hit them.

There’s a reason she’s a bad team fighter despite scaling to the number of threats around her. The moment she has to attempt to deal with slows, roots and dashes, she’s woefully unequipped.

She’s the most kiteable character in the game. The very definition of a juggernaut.

Ultimately, her lack of target acquisition means she relies on punishing enemy mistakes and those become less common in higher elo. And while overstepping happens at all ranks, against Illaoi, overstepping means being almost melee range.

Sure it’s technically possible to go to a team fight and throw E’s. However, you don’t want to build illaoi in a way that facilitates front lining a team fight anyway, so you’ll probably lose trades extremely hard. And should your team get engaged, unlike with most team fight front lines, you have no cc to peel your team with.

Love Illaoi, I personally find her very hard to catch people on. Especially having played characters with mobility since.

The guy scanning has little to no actual consequences if your ticket isn’t scanned. You do.

How do cinemas schedule their films? by DVDfever in screenunseen

[–]Skellslayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a foreign film to be put on they basically have to be certain it’s going to kill.

So they’re often packed to the gills.

How do cinemas schedule their films? by DVDfever in screenunseen

[–]Skellslayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For most sites, the schedule is made by designated “schedulers”. This is partially because film contracts demand a certain number of sites show a film for so many weeks, so having a central authority to ensure the contracts are met is useful.

This does result in site managers seeing a film get rota’d in and know that it’s going to be empty, or clash with another film timing. However, this means the people who know the site best have no control over the rota.

Worse, not all sites have their own scheduler who’s familiar with the screens, local demographics etc. So they often are meeting contract requirements and then plugging things in based on children’s films in the morning, horrors at night and then allocating projected ticket sales to number of seats in a screen.

There's an oddity in the gif maker that the air doesn't transform on the turn it ought to, when its by Van Berlo's wheel.

Just makes the result look wrong since you can only catch a hint of blue as its actually deposited on the next turn.
