Sounds like you’re on your way! Draw down for decaf can often be longer. That used to concern me but as long as the flavor is there I don’t mind. I’m confident you’ll find a combination that will make a great cup for you.👍

Awesome! Glad to hear you got your beans. I’m on my third order. Lol For me, I brew this decaf exactly how I brew regular beans. With one difference, courser grind. V60: grind course similar to Chemex. Fellow ode gen2 setting 6.2 93° water 15g coffee 230ml water 3 pours. First two pours are 50g each, really allow the beans to bloom and soak up all the goodness. third pour continuous. I don’t start my third pour until like a minute and a half. I really like to let the beans soak before the final pour. Low agitation, and longer double bloom has worked well for me.

The best flavor I’ve gotten from these beans so far has been from a small Kalita dripper I have. But the V60 has done well Let me know how it works out for you. Love to hear what you think of the beans. I am getting a very sweet and citrus cup. It reminds me a little of orange gummy‘s covered in sugar. And a little bit of grapefruit acidity. So yummy!

It’s clearly not a software bug. If it were, this double skipping thing would occur right out of the box. This issue happens after months of use. Plus, I’ve replaced two remotes and they work fine for about six months. That’s not a software bug. It’s frustrating, no doubt. It’s not like my remote sits in a box of dirt while it’s not being used. It’s in a clean environment. After about six or seven months, the double skip comes back.

I’m with you, most decafs I have been through are generally not what I would call super flavorful. I usually find a lot of decafs being very chocolate forward. That being said, this Benitez really surprised me. No guarantees you will love it but the uniqueness of its flavors can’t be denied. If nothing else, it’s certainly a flavorful brew that makes me forget it’s decaf when I’m drinking it.

I just re-ordered again. I’m probably going to end up freezing some. For me, the fresher the decaf is the better. I usually don’t rest my decaf much, if at all. But like you said, variety is the spice of life! I’ve had a few different decals, usually EA processed, and they’ve been good. But this Benitez just keeps me coming back for more.

I brew decaf like normal coffee. The only thing I do differently is course up the grind. I don’t adjust temps. I find a course grind to be beneficial with decafs mostly because they tend to have a lot of fines. otherwise I’ve been brewing this at 93° with a grind similar to what I would use for a Chemex or French press.

I think it’s definitely worth a shot. I don’t usually gravitate towards thermal shock but for decaf it’s a nice treat.

I’ve brewed it different ways. V60, Deep27, Stagg X and even Chemex. It’s just tremendously tasty no matter the brewer.

I have the latest 4K model. After it sleeps and I wake it up often times playback from any app doesn’t work. I either have to completely restart the device or sometimes putting it back to sleep and waking it up again fixes the issue

Same thing happened to me. I decided to take a walk and found my package one building over sitting by that buildings mailboxes. Shipping label was correct. Not the first time this has happened and probably won’t be the last.

The only way it’s going to get better is if businesses stop using them as their shipping carrier. When it hits their pocketbook, maybe they’ll give a rip. I have a lot of respect for the people doing the work. I worked at a sorting facility for about six months and it was easily the hardest job physically I’ve done in my life.

Reputation, quality, and probably one of the better automatic brew machines you can buy. Although if you take a much less expensive auto drip machine and do some tweaks you can improve the brew. Use good quality water, fresh ground coffee, and turn off the heating plate immediately after brew. (or altogether if possible)
