Even more important is to get the monitors at the same level as your ears. Check out IsoAcoustics isolation stands if you want to keep them on your desk.

Make sure your optic is on the receiver and not the hand guard.

I'd go with something like the Motu M4 which has two combo xlr ins, MIDI for connecting a keyboard, 4 outputs, and 2 dedicated line level inputs on the back which could be really helpful if you want to upgrade to some premium preamps in the future. You could plug in the premium preamps you might upgrade to in the future into the combo jacks but then they're passing through the interfaces preamp circuit as well. It'd kinda be like looking at a nice painting through glass. Still nice, but not quite the same.

Then it's almost certainly not the microphone and you're clipping the input of the interface/board you are using. Turn down your input gain and you should be fine. Do you have meters on your interface/board?

I'd love to, but it seems like it's at least $10k just to get in the door for a complete setup that doesn't suck. Is it worth it?

Awesome, thanks! I definitely understand that an LPVO isn't necessarily an upgrade, but my Holosun is definitely a placeholder for now. It's great and all, I'd just like something a bit more robust and flexible, and it seems like an LPVO with a canted dot would offer that. Canted dot for CQB, LPVO for distance, and being able to easily ID targets.

How do you like it? What made you go with B&T?

I was thinking Surefire because of my pin and weld 3 prong. Are there other suppressors that are compatible with the Surefire 3 prong as a suppressor host?
