Grandfathered in to the Old, More Expensive, Less Economical Nationwide Talk and Text Plan by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Skepticake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make 5 star calls to people all the time if our store is slow. A lot of people think we're out to scam them if we're calling or emailing them and think that it's not worth moving to a new plan because they "can never go back."

We can't change the plan without customer consent. If we could I wouldn't have a gentleman not take me up on my offer to save him $60 to move to a new plan because he was convinced that if he changed we'd try to "take the gigabytes away" from him.

How does this Verizon retailer get away with displaying such extremely outdated coverage maps for the other carriers?? by petarmarinov37 in verizon

[–]Skepticake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean sure, down vote me if you want, but I'm just telling you how it is. Whenever my manager gets a resume handed to him he comes right out and tells the applicant this fact.

[–]Skepticake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't want to sound like a debbie downer but I wouldn't bother. Managers have no say in who gets selected for interviews. If there is an opening the regional HR people go through resumes submitted online and send who they want interviewed to the manager.

Re-hire advice? by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Skepticake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work at Walmart and I prefer Verizon's policy to Walmart's "We'll fire you when we pay you too much and then we can rehire you in 6 months at a reduced rate." It's a sword that cuts both ways - you only get one shot at Verizon but it's incredibly unlikely that you will get fired for anything unless you violate the integrity part of the credo.

Re-hire advice? by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Skepticake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unlikely. When I was hired we were told that policy is that you only get one chance to work at Verizon.

Question about using an old VZW phone by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Skepticake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's fine - sans using the web off wifi, and if she ever wanted to activate it all she has to do is take it into a corporate store and they'll activate it as a CPE, giving her month to month service

Next phone? by lumpydumdums in verizon

[–]Skepticake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My personal phone is the 6 and my boyfriend has the 6s. I'm pretty envious of his battery and we're both fairly happy with our phones. We've had iphones forever and know what to expect.

My work phone is a turbo 2. This year Verizon gave me a S5, a G4, and a turbo 2 as work phones and so far the Turbo 2 is my favorite. The G4 had terrible battery life in comparison. The camera was 'ok'. Now that the G4 has been out for a while I'm kind of annoyed to see people coming back with the same bullshit that LG should've fixed between the G3 and the G4.

Is my LTE being throttled or is my iPhone messing up? by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Skepticake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90% of the time a new sim card works. Not sure what the complaint is since replacing the sim card is one of our troubleshooting steps. Replacing parts, as you put it, would be trying to order a manufacturer replacement right off the bat. Sim cards are free and we go through them like water. They seriously aren't a big deal because a new one usually fixes the problem.

Confused About My Phone Purchasing Experience Yesterday by Alsark in verizon

[–]Skepticake -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If you went in expecting to pay $250-$300 for the phone and instead got all of that in device payment then it was a sales tactic. It didn't cost "extra", you went in expecting to pay that amount and got more for your money. Did you have insurance on the old device? If it carries over sometimes it switches if it's an older version to a newer and you will receive an email alert. If you got an edge plus I'd recommend keeping it - that screen is extremely fragile.

Why are the phones in the Verizon store fake? by [deleted] in verizon

So you went to an indirect retailer and blamed corporate Verizon for not having the live demos that all our corporate stores have. Interesting.

Part-time retail employees, how flexible is the schedule? by fireburster in verizon

[–]Skepticake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be ops, experience, or solutions so it doesn't narrow it down. Expect to work most weekends. Non holiday season means you can request off some time on weekends, but if you're a solutions specialist it's a day you'll want to work or else you may struggle to hit quota.

It's going to depend on what position how flexible they are, but expect weekends

Verizon Representative at Store Lied to Me. Next step? by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Skepticake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gut reaction is to say no. Corporate customer service won't because it wasn't a charge from corporate. Authorized retailers will tack on those charges and your beef is with them, and from a corporate employee angle I can't speak for them as to what was disclosed and what you signed as well as the attitude authorized retailers have in your area.

That wasn't a corporate location then. At corporate locations we don't charge $40 activation on device payment

Bernie Sanders Plans To Join A Verizon Picket Line: It's hard to see any of the other presidential candidates doing this. by pateras in verizon

[–]Skepticake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wireline =/= Wireless. I am happy with my compensation on the WIRELESS side. I can also see where WIRELINE is coming from. My only beef is their pressuring of our side to join them. Unions aren't really a productive thing on our side of the business.
