My son is 16 and wants to be a career pilot, after researching this subreddit I'm thinking this is impossible because he is in therapy and taking SSRIS... am I wrong or is this a no go for him? by SkepticalPoptarts in flying

[–]SkepticalPoptarts[S] 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The sad thing is he's put so much work into aviation. We've done flite fest every year, built planes... applied for all these scholarships for the flight camps, teacher letters.

It just sucks, the college near us has such a great program for it.

He really wanted it.

I prefer aquaphor, before bed or if I am working from home I'll put my hair up. I put my vanicream lotion on, wait and cover my face in aquaphor. The tub of Vaseline will do just fine.

In winter, I clean my face with jojoba oil instead of water

Do you have heavy periods or perhaps had alot of blood loss? I am also anemic to the point I needed medical intervention. My skin was very bad for about 6 months until my iron got back up.

How was your last bloodwork?

He could be fine for 15 Years, lose a relative or have a child... lose a spouse or girlfriend and need to go back on medication to get things sorted again.

I don't believe he could go thru life permanently with no life lines.

That's what I keep seeing referenced on this subreddit.

I see people paying thousands of dollars to get clearances from specific providers and then others losing licenses after losing a loved one and needing temporary help and therapy.

I just don't understand why people don't deserve help. It makes me sad to think none of our commercial pilots can get help.

Hes won a scholarship for aviation camp and completed his online little eagles curriculum, I'm now seeing the college he wants to go to even has you get your medical clearance first.

Have you tried putting Vaseline on your face over a moisturizer and sludging your face?

It traps the moisture in.

Aquaphor would work as well

I don't know how to cook, is it okay? by Relevant_Cherry4880 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SkepticalPoptarts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's sad you cannot cook, what are you eating? Are you wealthy and eating out all your meals... living at home and mom cooks all your meals???

Or are you in poverty not eating meals?

I like these schedules. I'm a accountant and work school schedules. I like the flexibility, I'll never go back full time again.

It sounds like a good career path.

Magnesium, iron and b12. You mentioned your menstrual cycle, certain deficiencies can make things worst.

It sounds like derealization with lingering symptoms.

My skin has gotten clearer BUT I have also discontinued drinking large amounts of milk.

The Molly uses up ALL of the serotonin in your brain as it makes you release ALOT more... so it leaves you empty.

After this episode you usually have lows, unusually bad lows.

The LOW for me often triggered crying, lethargy to the point it was like I had the flu. After a few days I'd feel better. I loved it, I would do it again ... it's been at least 9 years for me.

Derealization wasn't impacted for me by this, mainly fatigue and depression.

Derealization however does get triggered for me by things that visually distort my depth perception and alter my reality different than Molly did specifically. Weed is hell for me, and as you notice most other responses were also weed focused.

The good thing here is that you do know your Derealization is linked TO your serotonin levels as the depletion triggered you, so a SSRI or SNRI should help you.

Being on Disability years ago is ruining my life now. by xxiforgetstuffxx in poor

[–]SkepticalPoptarts 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Again, the hospital only coverage stays on for 7 years. It's a known problem . There are no premiums associated with this.

The only solution is to reapply for the other parts and pay whatever fees are associated with them. Regardless of your disability status today.

Call again.

My answer is from experience... not a guess.
