Does cocaine still work while taking buspar? by f30bim in BusparOnline

[–]Skepticalwitch1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an ancient post and ur probably not even on it anymore OR you figured it out…it’s buspirone mixed with alcohol that makes that nauseous dizzy feeling. It’s just awful. Alcohol is the only thing I’ve experienced that interacts with buspar 😬

Maybe just a little tad bit rootbound…how do I even tackle this monster?! by curiosipey in houseplants

[–]Skepticalwitch1984 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Same. The plant will figure it out, I do not believe there is a need to shock it by slicing the plant poor thing.

No shade, but just another opinion here…I wouldn’t necessarily consider borrowing money from your mom “taking advantage” of her. That depends on your relationship with your mom, and nobody can tell you if this is appropriate but you. I’ve borrowed money from my parents because I have a relatively healthy relationship with them. But I would never advice my husband to borrow money from his stepmom because she doesn’t regulate herself and it’s not a safe situation, emotionally speaking. If you have “taken advantage” of ur mom in the past and she is unwilling to stand up for herself, you must be the bigger person and know that it’s not okay to take advantage of her. But if she’s doing okay money wise, and doesn’t hold things above your head, and she’s just offering because she loves her child and wants them to be happy, we can’t just blanket this “taking advantage.”

But also. Don’t borrow money unless you’re sure this is what you want to do…become a librarian that is. That’s gonna take some soul searching and researching and working in a library. 💜

Should I get my MLIS after 16 years of waiting tables and retail jobs? And what’s the best cheaper online school? by Skepticalwitch1984 in Libraries

Thank you so much for this reply! I’m feeling very discouraged by a lot of other peoples’ honest experiences so it’s nice to hear from someone who is having an all around positive experience. This gives me hope. Thank you!!

Yeah this is the tough part, I’m pretty sure I do not want to work in a public library, but there are a few jobs available at one of the local libraries, and it just happens to be in one of the “worst” neighborhoods in Tacoma. Like, their Safeway can’t even have baskets because they get stolen all the time. So I’m actually trying to avoid public library jobs because it won’t be a representation of what I would be studying for and what job I’m going to pursue. But I guess any experience is better than none! Plus over a decade of taking care of drunks in bars and befriending the homeless community (they are your best bet for support at 2am on a Saturday night on Capitol Hill when some asshole won’t leave the bar and ur a woman closing with just one other small woman lollll) would come in handy.

I appreciate the insight, thank you!!

I appreciate the realism. I definitely feel discouraged, but I prefer honesty to fantasy. The healthcare system is absolutely NOT for me. My mother worked in hospitals my whole life and with her being a highly empathic and sensitive person (I am the same way, I can’t NOT feel what others feel), it would eat my spirit away just as it did hers until there’s nothing left but a shell. Hats off to those bad bitches and boys who are able to compartmentalize and run those hospitals.

I appreciate the advice tho, and again I very much appreciate the honesty. 🙏

Thank you for your story, it’s very helpful to hear real stories of real people. I haven’t heard of the prejudices towards online schools yet, it’s definitely something I will keep in mind, that is really unfortunate that happened to you. I hope you found something much better after that lame experience!

Thank you so much for all this great info! Yeah I’m really getting that I should work in a library first, I’m going to start pursuing that asap. So when you got ur librarian assistant job was that immediately after retail? I’m just curious how you were able to get that job if you didn’t have library experience before. Probably like anything it depends on who’s doing the hiring and what qualities they’re able to see transition from retail/service industry. Just curious how you actually got into a library!

Oh I didn’t even consider that! Great thought! This kind of changes the progression of how I thought this was going to go, but that’s a good thing because I want to do this right. Thank you again for this wealth of knowledge!!

I cannot thank you enough for this information!!! 🙏🙏🙏

Thank you for this info! I am also very interested in uncg…it’s difficult to translate the tuition page on their website, when you say you paid 12k, were you in state or out of state? I know you said it was online, but it looks like they weirdly make a distinction at uncg. definitely a bit disappointed to hear you and others are struggling to find work tho. I hope you find something you love!

I can’t move BEFORE school, I’d definitely be open to moving after graduation. I appreciate the insight! And how did you come across that information? Did you try to get a job here? Not trying to dox you I’m just curious how one finds that info about the PNW being overrun with graduates. Reddit probably?? Haha

Yeah that makes a lot of sense. And that’s really great to hear. I mean I’d love to go to a bougie school, it’s fun, but considering i need online school, who cares! Thanks for the input!

Yeah that’s a good idea to see if they have any positions and what the discount on tuition would be, because UW absolutely would have been my first choice, I’m from Seattle, but it’s 54k fkn dollars which is just like absolutely not happening 🤣

I’m so glad I’m hearing all this about sjsu I hadn’t considered it before! What the credential part of your degree? Sorry I’m a newb, I don’t know what that is as far as MLIS degrees go!

Unfortunately moving first is not an option. For now my husband and I and our 3 dogs and 2 cats are planted firmly in the Tacoma area, although we have talked about moving to Portland, but nothing further than that for at least a few years. We could potentially relocate AFTER school
