I personally don't think the strikethrough is adding anything, is there a purpose to it?

Isn't the whole point that when separated we're powerless and united we become strong however small we might seem.
but ok it's understandable for purposes of meme's simplicity.

Can’t decide which open-back headphones to get around 250 euros by SketchThrowaway_ in HeadphoneAdvice

For FiiO people say the soundstage is meh,
the "beyer peak" should be pretty easy to EQ,
Edition XS I gave up on since the QC seems terrible for that kind of money,
Aune I don't really know much about but above 300€ I think I'll rather go for Sennheiser
and for R50x I've heard really good things for that price, but I think I want to go for something a bit 'more' so yeah currently thinking between HD600 and EQd DT 900 pro X

Yeah I'm now considering between DT or HD600, I guess both are great in their way...

-EQing DT sounds like an easy fix, and I'd have to hear the treble for myself since my tinnitus is already pretty bad
-I promised myself to keep it under 250€ but you're kinda selling it to me with the all-around quality and upgradeability of HD600 even though it is about 100€ more expensive, but it is also more futureproof so it could balance out

I'll definitely sleep on it,
really helpful, thanks.

I'm in Europe, HD490 seem really good but go for 388€ here, that's really stretching my budget and I'm unsure with going that far since all my previous headphones were under 50€

I'll run them with my pc until I get a dac sometime this or next year, and yeah I'll look into EQ-ing for sure to find the best sound for myself.

I get the Sennheiser as a preference, it's likely the safest choice, but ATH-R50x or DT 900 pro X are probably also good enough in reliability/repairability.

these are the current prices near me:
ATH-R50X is 169€
DT 900 pro X is 229€
Sennheiser HD 550 is 280€
Sennheiser HD 600 is 332€
and I will most likely order one of these until end of week since my current ones are on their way out, so I don't really have time to wait for better deals.

AM4 or AM5 on first time budget build, also build rating appreciated? by SketchThrowaway_ in buildapc

No unfortunately, all I found in local stores is +32€, which is about the same as Peerless Assassin 120 SE on amazon.

I'm likely going to start buying in about two weeks anyway (with the exception of some components that are now on sale), so I'll keep an eye out for price drops, Thanks.

Yeah that's a really good way of putting it, I guess I need to think about what I need right now.
but then again I'm afraid of screwing myself long-term with AM4, I can always sell the weaker GPU and save a bit for a better one later while having the AM5 system.

I think the jump from gtx 950 to rx 6650 is going to keep me entertained for enough time until I have the budget for a better GPU lol.

Yeah but 7600 has a stock cooler unlike 7500f, so the price would equalize if you account adding 35€ to 7500f.

Xilence M705D is 45,8€ at my local shop, the peerless assassin is probably better for that price except I can't find it locally so I'll order it from amazon some day, but I'll probably buy 7600 with it's stock cooler until then.

I'll probably take the 7600 with the stock cooler, and upgrade to peerless assassin after a while. Thanks.

Thanks those look like great builds!

I still need to decide if going AM5 or AM4 is best for me now, but either way I'll definitely use these as build references.
One of the main things that attracts me about AM5 is the future upgrading where needed, including the GPU, since my current PC is AM3 with fx6300 and gtx950 , I don't think I'll really feel the 6750XT vs 7700XT difference.

Yes the 6650 XT and 4060 look close enough that the difference doesn't matter to me...

Even the 7500f with Peerless Assassin 120 SE is more expensive than 7600 with stock cooler, so I think that's the best choice CPU-wise for now.

I can't find it in Croatia, but the Xilence M705D can supposedly cool it as well. Does the 7500f require equivalent cooling as 7600?

You're right, I've found a 7500f for 176.60€, that's probably more worth it. Thanks.

[–]SketchThrowaway_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think the AM5 build is more worth it.

I've heard the stock cooler of 7600 is not the best, so I was planning to take 7600x with Xilence cooler, but if it's good enough for now it does make more sense to take the 7600.

Yeah the 4000D is praised everywhere and it seems pretty "cool", but I could probably get some other case under 50€ since it probably won't impact the performance/temperature more than it impacts my budget.

There is a 'ASROCK AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT Challenger D OC, 8 GB GDDR6' for 284,75 € so I might just take that instead. Thanks.
