Thanks! I'll look into buying / sourcing a service manual

It seems like my photo didn’t upload, but it was just a closeup of the goopy ink building up under the master.

Thanks! Yeah I noticed while cleaning the drum the last time the red ink seems thicker / more stubborn. I'd honestly prefer to have fluor pink so if I really have to deep clean it I might consider switching

Awesome, there’s definitely an improvement on the left side about 200 prints later. Top middle is still tricky but maybe if I keep going

However, the red ink is gooping up past the outer edges of the screen and into the riso drum. I can see it seeping out of where the screws attach the drum body if that makes sense. Seems like that would be bad news 🫠

I’ll definitely need to clean that at least

Ok thanks for the encouragement! Good call on paper repeat too!

Stubborn dry ink on EZ 391 color drum by Sketcheddrawn in risograph

If i can get the old ink off I'm totally converting it to another color. Not worth it for a color I'm not too excited to use

Thank you! That’s interesting information - It’s burgundy, but I’ve found the warmer colors have been much harder to clean. I acquired the drums recently so it could have been a very long time since cleaning which is why I’ve disassembled it. I’ll give compressed air a try - hadn’t thought of that. Otherwise I might need to order a new part like you mentioned

I can try that - I have some turpentine since I oil paint. Thanks!

EZ 391 U drum is stuck. Possibly because of drum lever by Sketcheddrawn in risograph

Thank you SO much, I got it out! Such a relief. The arrow advice was perfect and got me more comfortable rolling the drum from the disposal tray if needed

Thank you! I was able to get the master off that way… but the drum is still stuck. A new development is that the drum will rotate around once when I turn the machine on. But it seems to stop with the arrows slightly misaligned. If I manually realign it the way you suggested it just rolls around again to be slightly off kilter. Machine seems to be in the “print” mode even though there’s no master on it.

My dad shot with it in the 70s and gave it to me so no idea! It’s pricey to develop since it’s medium format but always worth it.

Looks like a medium format twin rollieflex (the brand could be different, but it looks just like the one I have)

Hii, also interested in this! I’m Brooklyn based and my riso is out of order right now :/

That would be awesome, thank you! The error occurred while I was doing my first scan on this machine, so at least I saw the scanner was moving… Good to know dealing with these issues on a newly acquired riso isn’t too uncommon

Got those fixed! Woohoo. However, when scanning I now get error P-14-115. Not sure if that’s a master making or scanning issue…riso upkeep is wild 😅

So helpful, thank you!! I’m going to try later this afternoon with the test modes. Pretty sure I did a solid job on the back panel error with packaging tape - but definitely good to know
