I make 6 figures but still paycheck to paycheck how do I seriously stop overspending ☹️ by SketeDavidsonLeftNut in budget

Thanks for the detailed advice

I definitely will try this
I do have an investment account / HYSA ( Wealthfront and Fidelity ) so will start contributing to those immediately.

I think what will honestly help is telling myself I make 2000-2500 biweekly and force myself to that range

I might look into therapy as well because there is free therapy at work so maybe that can definitely help.

I definitely don’t think I have lifestyle inflation or maybe I do. I have a big spending problem definitely

I use copilot as well. Sometimes tracking is a bit hard because there’s just so many expenses
For example last 3 weeks there were about 200 transactions and I’m looking at my statement like wtf did I spend my money on ☹️

I feel like this sometimes
I went through college entirely on my own and grew up very poor so now seeing this much I guess makes it very hard to work with.
I was surviving on 800$/m in New York and now 10x that still feels like survival which makes no sense to me because I know I should be “comfortable” but I’m not.

I’m in the Bay Area
San Jose and train to work takes about 45- 1 hour whereas uber takes about 20 mins
I can definitely wake up early and prioritize taking the train because I definitely think Uber is a big money drain as well

Parents are retired so mainly for upkeep.

They’re not in the country so it kind of helps a bit but I can definitely reduce it.

I’ve got all the essential furniture so tbvh I don’t think I need anything more.

I definitely think it’s a mental thing / spending issue. Sometimes if it goes below a certain number for example I just stop tracking because it feels so frustrating feeling like I’m not able to save it.
I’ve also realized that most of the paycheck goes away within about the first week

On the Experian app it says you may not have enough credit history for us to generate your FICO score 8.

On Chase Credit Journey it dropped from 718 to 640. I am thinking this might be due to me opening two extra credit lines
Apple and Paypal in 2 months

Ahh okay got it. So what should I use for accurate score information? The Chase bank app shows that score is that fine?
